Now on to the level Halo.

I like to kill everything, so I destroy both banshees, and the first Spirit's troops. Except I lure them onto the bridge, and make the Elites sidestep. :P

As for the rest of the level, I splatter as much as I can, save every Marine possible, and use the Sniper on Jackals and Elites, with the good ol' M6D on Grunts.

Bungie Pentathlon - who actually cares ?

I have split mine into several sections:

Opening Section:

Chickenlittle is spot on with this one

Sgt Johnson's squad and 'hog time:

When you get your second encounter with the the Covies on this level you seem them being dropped off in the Spirits, I instantly spam grenades at their feet where they are about to land. Next I ensure the Elites are taken out first with some well timed AR bursts...easy peasy

Light Bridge:

I park the 'hog you just got on the raised section just before the light bridge section, so the marine gunners can give you support fire..then its a case of introducing some more Covenant to the delights of the M6D...hit the switch and boot it accross!

Marines amongst the rocks:

I am a fan of grabbing the sniper rifle and leaving my 'hog by the crashed Bumblebee with two marines in it for some back-up fire power, then hitting the Covies when the doors open on the dropships

Marines on the hill:

I drive straight up the hill, splattering on my way, then I park the 'hog on the brow of the hill so the marines can mow down anything that comes up, all the time hitting the Elites with the sniper

Marines in the bunker:

I park the 'hog at the entrance to this section and work my way through with the sniper rifle, taking care to makes sure all of the Elties have been removed from the tops of the structures with a combination of plasma grenades and M6D

R.I.P. Halo 2
11/9/04 - 4/15/10

- B( )B

I use the M6D on the Grunts and Jackals and I use the sniper on Elites and if they are far away I also use it on Hunters for a guaranteed hit, the pistol is not predictable enough. I like killing as many enemies as possible with as few shots as possible.

First off I spawn the dropship and hide behind the rocks next to the sheer wall. Frag the grunts, and grab a needler or PP and take out the elites.
At the huge structure that spawns six dropships I time it so that I'm arriving on scene just when the doors open and they jump out. A coupla stickies detonating when 'lites touch ground followed by needler takes them out. I M6D the grunts. I can usually make it so I can long distance some frags onto the last dropship and save 4 or five techs or marines on the main structure.
The lightbridge is easy. I either drive them all down or park the Hog next to the wall so I can jump up on the wall that houses the controls. Narrow passage and pack elites is a fragfest.

The rest of the level I pretty much never get out of the hog and drive over everything I possibly can. A speeding hog and active gunner gives the enemy little chance of any kind of serious threat to do any damage to me.
If I want to go mano y mano I take a needler and M6D and stay close to the hog and it's gunner.

I prefer to make levels as hard as possible wherever I can, limiting my use of the power weapons like the sniper rifle and rocket launcher when they are available.

Opening:

I typically go just far enough to trigger the d/s and then turn around and go back to the edge of the dropoff by the back end trees. This puts me in a great position to lob a grenade at the bluff side grunts as they exit. I trade the AR for a needler and goad the remaining elites out to turn them into big pink explosions of teeth and flesh! Once they are gone I take out the grunts that have crossed the bridge with the pistol. I use the inside of the escape pod to duck and cover while getting both banshees smoking nicely with the pistol in order to make sure I take both of them out rather than letting one escape. The next batch of covies gets taken out with pistol and needler rounds.

The second dropship area I typically use a PP and the pistol and stay right at the level where you jump down to trigger their arrival. I take out what the marines do not without leaving that initial area. For fun, often times I will lure all of the remaining to the big boulder area so that I can take out the grunts in one area and create a huge pile of dropped plasma grenades. One elite taken out with a full clip of needles and the whole shebang goes up, I have to sit back and watch how many others go down from the blasts with a big arse grin on my face!

After all of the d/s have come and gone I then move through to the light bridge. I really do not worry about keeping my marine chain gunner alive, but I do make sure that he does not get to have any fun by parking far enough away and taking on these covies on foot. I typically have a needler and a pistol since PP's are easy enough to just pick up from the dead jackals.

The main part of Halo I do on foot, since I park the hog at the downed escape pod and pick up an ammo pack for my pistol. From there on, it is pistol, plasma pistol and needlers only. My goal is to finish without dying once, nor picking up a health pack from here on out. I probably am gonna go to hell for not caring how many marines survive, but that is how I roll on this level. What the heck, since more marines made if off the ship than Cortana expected, we have a few to spare right???

I take the landing zones in any order that tickles my pickle, lob alot of grenades (see how many long distance sticks I can get!) and use alot of cover to get close enough in the rockslide area to pick off grunts and jackals. I use my frags tossed past fallen enemies to blow their weapons back to me so that I do not run out of Plasma Pistols or needler ammo!

Loads of fun!
