Subject: How to Beat the Library - Guide for Noobs on Legendary, Section One

I am responsible for dividing the Covenant. I shall end this war.

It's all tactics, tactics, and tactics.
Before I start, If you find a better way, I understand. There are many ways to beat this mission.
This is a basic guideline.

The First Part:

In the circle room, take baby steps. Get the combat and carrier forms to come to you, but keep your distance. Keep laterally moving, and use a PR/PP/Pistol to shoot the carriers and damage the combat ones. Then, grab an SG and fire at the Combat Forms. Hit the spiders with a Pistol, Human or Plasma.

Tactically assassinate the carrier forms next to other flood - they will make your job all so much easier. Now, remember, start shooting the ones next to plasma and frag grenades on the ground, cause those explode too. Shoot the ones traveling with combat forms to make the level easier to play. Wipe out the stragglers.

The general corridors: On the most part of the Library, it's endless corridors full of floods, so use meds as sparingly as possible, but stay near them. Use the carrier-shot tactic here too.

The underground corridors: use the corners to your advantage. Use the carriet-shot tactic, accompanied by the POA tactic, which is to shoot some dudes, then, when your health isn't looking too good, either let your shields recharge or take an extra med you didn't use (usually, you use em all). Let the spiders come to you, and let them pop if you have sufficient shielding.

The walls: When the monitor says he has to open the door from the other side and tells you to wait, get your mofo game on. This is the hardest part of the game, and the point is to repel the flood coming at you. Hide behind the little alley closest to the door, and use the POA tactic, or if you can afford it, the carrier-shot tactic.

Note: Do not use rifles or needlers, or pistols on combats cause they just get back up again. Carrier shot with a pistol, which is possible to use on the spiders, then SG the remaining combat forms.

Tell me if you got any problems.

Bungie Pentathlon - who actually cares ?

Thats fine, nice and in depth... but change the title...no one in this forum uses the term "noobs" its soooo Halo 3..yeah?

Actually, in this game, the term actually applies. In the other two games, it just means which weapons you use.

I usually agree with you mate, but we will agree to disagree here, there are better ways of using a term like that - "first timers" anway sorry to digress here....

Back to the post, what would you say is the best way to eliminating the flood carrying rocket launchers ? they still, to this day, manage to get me...

Yeah, that's what the word originated meaning. Not anymore though.

And I'm not your mate. We're not primitives, you know!

Hahah, sorry using an English term for "friend / chum / associate" ! and no, I do not want to mate with you, my wife would be even more angry.

I should hope you don't. It's Australian, by the way, not English. I don't often here British people say "G'day mate!", no, not with them.

I suggest shooting it into a cluster of combats when there is no carrier form around.

I'm a dude playing a dude desguised as another dude. I hate heritics, non-logical thoughts and people who are better than I am. People tell me that they like a lot of games, but I hate them all. Whenever I play a video game, I always go crawling back to Halo 3. Never go full retard!

Great level... one of my favorites

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

Yea, I must be getting old, I still use the term for "new player" not for a person who's playstyle disagree's with my own.

Back on topic however i've found that the Library is actually quite easy on legendary. After playing through it a rediculous amount of times I have found that you can run through nearly 85% of the level, only stopping to fight at the area's designated by Guilty Spark. More often than not all you need is a shotty and a pistol to hold off anything that comes you way. A single shot with the pistol to a carrier form is a perfect method of crowd control.
