Howdy. I'm an aspiring map-maker, and have been for some time. I've come up with what I think are some pretty cool designs (including one that almost looks exactly like the upcoming Halo 2 map containment that I drew up about 7 months ago). However, I haven't gotten any work done on anything. The problem for me is that I can't and will not pay alot of money for an editor (like 3dsMax 6,7, etc.). So I've tried to use Gmax, but its tough to learn and I can't figure it out. Then there's the problem of exporting all the files to Tool, Sapien, GOrila, etc (the HEK tools). I've searched desperatley for a Gmax exporter, as well as Gmax tutorials. But now, I'm simply lost. If someone could please help, it would be great. And if there's another editor besides Gmax that you use that works better, let me know, as I'd be happy to try it out. Halo CE and the Hek are such amazing tools, but I can't use them =(. Thanks for your help.

That program will work as long as it can export using blitzkrieg or a similar plugin to make a .jms file for guerilla and the compilers.

If there is no exporter made for it, get GMax at the same site. It's free and pretty much the same: 3DS Max has way more than what you need to make a map. But yes, go to the tutorials, there is no way to even figure out the parameters of a map without them.
