This would be a good time to point out that the US Government seriously did consider nuking the moon during the Cold War as a show of force. Project A119.

"A large explosion on the Terminator line would put the sun behind the mushroom cloud, making the explosion visible with the naked eye from Earth."

Then the US decided they'd just send in Neil Armstrong to land on it. Neil Armstrong - the one man on the earth that was considered a suitable replacement for a nuclear missile.

I made it up to Delta Halo, but I still have not beaten it. I beat Halo 1 and 3's campaign on Legendary. Half of Halo 3's by myself. Has anyone here beaten it on Legendary?

After playing it for 2 years straight, I pretty much got the hang of it. 0.o

It is possible to commit no errors and still lose. That is not a weakness. That is life.

Cheeto is the only one among you that doesn't suck.

Gah, I could be the second, third, and last levels on legendary. Everything else I could never get past...

Tallahassee?
I spent two weeks in Tallahassee one night.

All but the first mission where you have to go through the areas with all the elites that one is impossible.

It's not hard. I finished it on legendary many times. Then again, when you didn't have xbox live till Halo 3 you kinda had to only play H2 campaign?

SHOOP DA WHOOP!

I completed it on Legendary with some friends a long time ago. I agree with the first one, we used like a week getting it.

Sometimes when I look at the moon at night, my mind embraces the thought of a love so vivid and true that I almost believe it is real. Then, due to my delusions, I am forced back into reality and begin to indulge myself in real life vices such as chocolates and German board games to get that once natural high.

All you have to do is hide like a little girl and shoot randomly like I did and you can beat it.

The biggest difference between beating CE on legendary and beating H2 on legendary is patience and memorization.

The 2 main differences in the games are the jackal snipers and the fact that the flood are harder to deal with.

Defeating the jackal snipers is a matter of dying often enough to figure out where they are and being able to take cover in spots that allow you to kill them before they kill you. It is funny how one tag from them kills you, but you can tag even a grunt 3 times before he falls (headshots excluded).

The flood are tougher for several reasons:
1) They no longer follow you all over hells half acres, they now move much more randomly making them less easily killed in groups with grenades.
2) Their melee is wicked, more powerful than in CE, and seems to happen more often in rapid succession.
3) The infection forms now can re-infect killed but not dusted forms.
4) The shotty is almost useless. The preferred flood killer is the sword for close in work and the BR for mid to long range. One nice thing is you can now kill flood with headshots (very handy with GBP skull on!).

It took alot of dying for me to complete legendary the first time. Even now I still die alot, which is just part of the H2 experience. Some of the skulls make it easier, most of them just make it harder. If you are playing with skulls on, try it without and see what happens. If you have a part you are just not getting through and need help, post a topic and you will get alot of help on the forum!

Good luck!

Halo 2's Legendary is lame, compared to Halo:CE and Halo 3. So your not missing much.

I feel as though the AI tactics in H2 were superior. It just seems that there's more to memorize because sometimes when you die, the AI will do something slightly different. Not all the time, just enough so that you have to take alternative measures into account. It was easier for me in H1 & H3.

somewhere in the heavens...they are waiting. I love the Marathon Trilogy.
Halo CE will always be the best game in the Halo franchise. What a perfect game.

Aw, don't worry I haven't beaten on Legendary either, I get bored quickly...

That part on Metropilis (or whatever that bridge level witth the scarab was called) where the Gauss hog is driving in circles is the part that I can't get past on Legendary.

  • 02.13.2009 2:59 PM PDT

In general, I've found that if you can survive the parts with jackal snipers, you basically can withstand anything else the game can throw at you at that difficulty.

In my opinion, jackal snipers are by far the most deadly enemy you will ever face on a high difficulty setting; if you don't know where the jackal snipers are in an encounter or you lose track of where they are, it's going to be very hard for you to survive. They're ridiculously good.

I hope you're kidding. Halo 3 had the least difficult and entertaining campaigns out of the three by far.

I've beaten Halo 2's Legendary about three times. It's really not that hard as long as you know what you're doing.

Sadly, I have not beaten it on legendary to this day either, and I have been playing it since the day it came out, that was a good day.

That is sad. You missed out on some good damn times if Halo 3 was the first Halo you played.

To play or not to play....

Jackal snipers really annoyed me in Halo 2 legendary. Seriously they would shoot you in the head from five miles while facingthe other way. It was so BS. It made fighting near impossible when they were around as you had to kill them first.

They fixed that problem in Halo 3.

Halo CE was pretty easy in legendary I always play legendary on Halo CE now. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Halo 2 is the hardest to beat on Legendary as a whole. I did both Halo CE and Halo 3 myself and it took way less dying than it di with Halo 2. My word I could hardly even complete legendary in Halo 2 and I did not do it straight through I did a level here and there.
