The same reason people post about what they think the forerunner are when, clearly, they have no idea and neither will anybody until the game comes out. The same reason there are so many favorite weapons combo posts and "how many levels do you think Halo2 should have". Honestly, being on this board is pointless in and of it self.
But I just feel like being here talking about a pelican because it is an amusing distraction until I have to go to prom today.
Now, golden elite, I think you're missing the point entirely, but I think that may be because you're . . . err. . . not quite on the same level as some of the others on this forum, to put it nicely. Halo PC had HUGE levels for a fps. Heck, look at Planetside, that whole game is one giagantic planetwide fps match (which has been poorly done by the way). Believe it or not, it is possible to make maps bigger *gasp* than bloodgultch because it's been done plenty of times before. Like I said before, on a Death Island sized map, the pelican is still useful in the modded version. I know that the pelican would be quickly shot down on small levels, if it ran straight into a firefight or parked right on top of an enemy base. Those situations aren't the pelican's fault, it's the pilot's. Anybody can stand in one spot on a hill and shoot at passers by, get sniped and complain that the game is too unbalanced and they can't take enough damage before dying.
give arguments a thought before posting.
[edit:] wow tartarus! no blamming way! It had never occured to me that there might not be a pelican in Halo2, especially after reading the article you just quoted. Well snap me down!
