Has anyone else noticed how the structure before you get to the control room in AOTCR looks very similar to Minas Tirith?

The books, which were used to make the movies, have been around since the 60s. So Bungie artists might have been inspired by Minas Tirith, not the movie version.

No Obviously J. R. Tolkin was a time traveler, or was just tokin some great -blam!-., But anyway came to the future and saw a masterpiece. As a result he was affected by what he saw, Unable to rid the image from his mind, He created a series of book to serve as a becon of awesomeness. A light in the dark, A fart in a perfume store, Or somthing else equally out of place. Halo was first. Then there was chicken.

Hey! I Wrote that Peter Jackson started making the movies in 1998 cause LOTR is one movie in three parts so it's actually not called the third movie it's called the third part and the first time you see Minas Tirith is in "The Fellowship of the Ring" when Gandalf rides to Minas Tirith to find out about the ring and it's power. Besides the books describes it well and they're from 1960's so there is no way that Peter Jackson was in anyway inspired from Halo ore anything like that. It's complete nonscense...

I'm pretty sure there are some Lord of the Rings geeks at Bungie. Echo 419's callsign, "Foe Hammer", is the translated name of Gandalf's sword. See "The Hobbit" (prequel to LOTR).

The control room structure is very much like Tolkien's description of it in the books with its levels that weave back and forth eventually leading to the seat of power.

Looks a lot to me like they got some of their inspiration from there.

Maybe but if they have had inspiration from a movie it would definetly be Aliens (by James Cameron) There are so many things that looks the same or just has inspired Bungie! I really think that has been some kind of inspiration...
