bah

Under the names of mods, it shouldn't just say member. It should say Modererator. It would give them added authority.

Under other member's names, it should say stuff. There are quite a few people I wouold deem worthy of being more than members. They could be Long Tyme Members, or Wise Members, or something like that.

You want something fun to do Frankie, SketchFactor and Archronos? You could give some people personally unique descriptions. You know, like tease names that are fun. Might be interesting.

Any other ideas?

What's the point of having "Moderator" (or "Modererator", as you put it ;)) under our profiles when it says it in the avatar?

And I wouldn't trust those guys with calling us names. I mean really, would you? :)

I dunno, I think it would be kind of fun.

 • 07.10.2004 9:23 PM PDT

I agree with Rip, as long as it's not post-related.

Oh, and I'm back from vacation. I hope you're happy. I know I am... most of the time.

Perhaps we shoud have an option in our profiles for allowing moderators to choose weird titles for us. There are probably people out there who might be upset by being teased.

 • 07.10.2004 10:04 PM PDT

I'd hope they'd check with the people they'd do it to, but then again, it might be funny to log on and see a new, funny title in the "member" spot. Shocking people is always great fun.
Unless it pisses them off, that is.

Rip Saw, did you have any specific title suggestions for people?

 • 07.10.2004 10:58 PM PDT

bah

Well, Banshee Barron could be "Guy who tells noobs to do crazy things." Joey could be "Incomprehensible writer." Um... Can't think of too many. All the people I know the best really aren't that annoying...

Rip should get the title "smart@ss" or "lots of idea's guy".
And i still think i should get the title of "Do not post this here guy" or something more fitting.

My title should be: "Ambiguous"

 • 07.11.2004 11:10 AM PDT

I know! Rip Saw's title could be Arrogant Ass! While his Member Since could be replaced with Producing Jackasses Since 4/26/2002 .

;-)

With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.

I don't think Rip is that arrogant... but that was funny, nonetheless.

Mine could be something related to my name... maybe Giant Worm (or Wurm, or Wyrm... I personally like the one spelled with the y :-)

This is a great idea! Imagine the possibilities!

And I hate you, Barron, for rubbing it in my face that you are not longer one of us poor, 56ker bastards...

Now I can download RVB episodes in seconds instead of days (I swear it took 10 hours for just one before DSL). I watched the entire second season yesterday. Yay! I can also play Xbox live and XBConnect all of the time and not have to go to a friend's house. That and I can download movies in seconds, and webpages load in a flash. Oh, and did I mention I don't constantly get kicked out of internet games for my connection? Or that I can actually host games *gasp*?

This is the life. I think you should get DSL or Cable, Shai. I'm not a cursing man, but 56k is a piece of -blam!- that needs to be flushed down the toilet.

Congrats banshee, welcome to the family, i'm glad you're not one of the slowpokes anymore.
And your title should be: Wise bullsh1t sayer or Doomsayer, "teacher" suits you too.

We are lucky, us DSL and Cable users.

Ah, ya lucky bastards!

Getting DSL or Cable up here in the boonies just ain't that easy...

And like I said before, I hate you, Barron! :-P

 • 07.11.2004 2:28 PM PDT

Well, I hate you for not having Cable or DSL and you hate me for having Cable or DSL. So we're even.

With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.

Hmmmm... makes sense to me...

Anyway, how about a single-word (or maybe two words) adjective to describe you, which will get slapped onto your avatar (much similar to how moderators have "Moderator" slapped on their avatars). This would be a nice alternative to custom avatars, since we can't have those...

But, of course, there'd have to be limits on what you can say.

I have no clue what I'd describe myself as... maybe, spiteful? Hey Barron, you're good at descriptions... what's a good one for me?

 • 07.11.2004 2:37 PM PDT

what's a good one for me?

Forum Wise-man

Or Wiseman, it doesn't matter really.

Rip Saw could be Forum Guru. It fits him nice.

With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.

Really? Hmmmm... wouldn't have thought that one was good for me... but still... thats good.

Can't think of much for anyone else... but here's some:

Barron: Enlightened
Obbi: Ambiguous (someone else said it first... can't remember who)
Eagle 117: Knowledgeable
AjentKay: Amusing, Sly, or Coy

And I agree. Forum Guru fits Rip quite nicely.
