I would have you make one tiny change to your forum post, if you will.
"Why Halo Players in General Suck"
Whether you're playing Halo PC, Halo for Xbox via XBC, Halo 2... all the people suck. Most of them are inconsiderate and rude - admins and players alike. That's just the way things are, unfortunately. We can only assume things will get better in the future and move on.
What you posted above has very little to nothing to do with Halo Custom Edition and only serves to further tarnish an already defiled reputation. I have no idea why I even care about Custom Edition anymore, as Gearbox and Bungie have killed it beyond a shadow of a doubt, but it was my impression that you were only hours ago trying to set up your own ded for CE?
You should keep up with that.
As you rightly state, the Custom Edition player pool is very small. Thus, with your own dedicated server, you could prove a large positive force in such a very tiny community. Don't get me wrong. Halo Custom Edition is past its prime. Its heydey is long over, but that doesn't have any bearing on our ability to have fun with it. I'm not sure of the current status of your project, as I don't keep up with this forum as much as I used to, but I for one would still love to play on a CE Maw Server.
The situation you outlined above is as old as game servers themselves. You will see this in any game you play, to varying degrees. Halo as a whole - meaning Halo CE: Xbox, Halo CE: PC, Halo 2, all of them - seem to attract the immature younger crowd. For what reason is beyond me, but it is downright infuriating for those who are looking for some good, quality gametime... for people who just want to play the game the way it was meant to be. I know where you're coming from. I've experienced the same thing under Halo PC and Halo Custom Edition. But that's no reason to quit or post messages like these. The power-freak wannabe admins have won round one of their little game. Don't let them win a second or third by throwing your hands up and high-tailing it outta here. Especially if this is the behavior typical of ALL good players. O_o
But whatever, there has been no great loss, has there? Who wants to play on unbalanced non-deds anyway? ;)
The one thing I can tell you for sure is that posts like these serve to do nothing positive for the game... except maybe release some of that pent-up steam in there, which is a positive thing, I guess. My only mandate is that you forum regulars not start falling appart at the seams, as I'm only just getting around to repairing my computer and being able to play HCE again for the first time in about four months. It's been torture sitting on the sidelines. You guys dang well better not leave just as I get the chance to come back. ;)
Ah well, anyway... You guys have a good one. I hope everyone takes this with a grain of salt and I'll maybe see you all in a game at the end of the week.
