It possibly isn't. People (myself included) are just speculating based on MGS marketting strategies that they will eventually release it for PC when XBox sales plummet.

Hey Prism1029,

You should read the Bungie FAQS about Halo 2 because they wrote that they are currently making Halo 2 on Xbox at this time and have no comments on making it for PC or Mac so in the end its a split down between yes and no so if anybody says Halo 2 isn't coming to PC they are just Xbox fanatics fanboys with no brain are are complete air-heads and same thing for the PC people always saying Halo 2 is coming to PC without proof.

Q. What systems will Halo 2 be available for?

A. Halo 2 is being made for the Xbox only at this time.

Notice in the FAQ it says the word "at this time".......so purposely trying to make yourself look like a donkey? Or just one of those fanatic fanboys who insist on trying to keep their favorite game exclusive by the strangest means?

Of course it is only being made for X-BOX at this time because they have to finish the game first before they port it. Use your brain, the game needs to be done before they start porting it, and it will be for PC, it has Microsoft on it think about it it will be coming to windows when it is time to port. Thats how it works, any game that is ported is completed for the platform it was intended for, then they port it.

The thing that scares me is that Halo 2 is the flagship for the new-and-improved Xbox Live, which is a paid service. Will Microsoft be so eager to authorize a port of this flagship to PC where players can play online for FREE to their heart's content? Or will MS prefer to force everyone to buy an XBox and subscribe to their monthly service? I guess the question then becomes, would you make more money by collecting monthly service fees or would you make more money by porting the game to PC and collecting one-time-only purchase fees? That's a question I'll leave up to the marketing folks. ;)

I think the best choice would be to implement both of these strategies at different times, ultimately satisfying both PC and console customers. Make sense to you? It makes sense to me. :) *prays for Halo 2 PC*

You betta believe it. Its very clever marketing you see. They have to be careful what they say about a Halo2 PC port as it would most definately affect there xbox counterpart sales.

Halo2 should most definatelt come to PC, a few years from now, when the xbox2 is out and all origional xbox consoles are biting the dust, a PC port will be the only way to play the Halo games. Unfortunately M$ is being cheap as always and NOT making xbox 2 backwards compatible. If they did there would be no problem.

Either way, there is a huge market for PC FPS, especially one as big as Halo2, M$ would be crazy not to tap into that market once they have sucked the xbox version sales dry.

Yeah, after how Gearbox shredded Halo on PC, I think Microsoft will probably have to go back to the drawing board for this one.

I myself only own a PC to play Halo on, and as much as I hate to admitt it Halo2 probably won't come to PC, the only reason the first Halo came to PC is because it was SUPPOSED to be released on PC FIRST if X-Box at all, but Microsoft bought the rights of Halo from Bungie when Halo was almost finished, so Microsoft had Bungir convert Halo to an X-Box game and was competed and released as an X-Box game. So now that there is now Halo 2 PC partialy complete there probably won't be a Halo 2 PC.

Halo 2 will probably be coming out on PC. Microsoft had to steal the program from Bungie before they could release it on X-Box. Microsoft has a larger Marketing mind then we believe. If they wait until the x-Box sales start to drop, then release it for PC, they will make ten times the profits than if they tell everyone months in advance that it is coming out. I know a lot of people who are currently buying X-Box (a hefty $150 around here) just to get Halo 2 when it comes out. When the PC version comes out, the masses will be pleased and always remember Microsoft for saving them money (not having to buy and $150 console just to get one game.) Microsoft will then proceed to make more profits when those same people go out to buy a state-of-the-art computer just to play Halo 2. The only thing I don't understand is that Halo 2 could make more money if they just released it on PC first. Just some food for thought ;)

Wrong. Everything that Bungie was doing for the PC previous before Microsoft bought them out was gone and deleted. Halo Xbox was build from scratch up for the Xbox because the Xbox uses different hardwares from the PC. The Halo Xbox game was then ported to the PC 100%, not used from what was left in 1999. And from there, Gearbox used the engine to redo the multiplayer game and make the engine workable on the current graphic card. Whatever was in 1999 that was made for Halo is in an archive disk at Bungie. As for a Halo 2, a company doesn't need a partial complete game to finish porting the PC. All they need is the program to convert the maps, models, sounds, and graphic from the Xbox to the PC. Since the maps are already completed, they need to code it to work on the PC. Given that Microsoft is capable of operating the world computer using Windows XP, porting a game is nothing difficult to them. The only thing that is difficult to them is whether to put money for Halo 2 PC or no Halo 2 PC. I suggest you view the Halo Evolution video as Bungie employees tell how Halo was build from the scratch.

The way I see it Microsoft would be very stupid not to port Halo 2 to the P.C they sold more then 3 million copies of Halo for xbox ( nearly one for every xbox out there), then they sold at least another 2 million on the P.C, I know peeps that bought both (P.C and xbox version) just becuz they want both. And now if we think about that it 5 million total, with the way everyone is over Halo 2 on xbox I guess there will be about 5 million for xbox now think if microsoft ported it to P.C it will be aleast another 4 million, so thats 9 million total, that's a hell of a lot of money for one game
