Why can't I use the symbol thing from my Halo 2 PC profile as my avatar on this website?

Thinking of something witty to write here since 2004...

Because Halo 2 Vista is not supported on Bungie.net...actually it's no longer supported at all.

But it hasn't even been out that long has it? I mean why wouldn't it be supported, they still support Halo 2 for Xbox! This just plain sucks.

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

It's been out for going on 2 years. :/

Haha, they stopped supporting H2V about 7 months after it came out.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

You can still get support for Halo 2 Vista from Microsoft.

That being on Vista would allow the game to offer something they couldn't have done on XP. Amazing map tools. Amazing online play.

I'm sure there are plenty more.

Still, H2V was a lackluster, low quality port of the hit based XBox game. Not that I support torrenting or hacking in any way whatsever, but making the game Vista exclusive was a very bad move by the Microsoft Monkeys.

I'm also surprised there's a Ninja floating around this forum at all.

Not to mention it was too hard for an average person to get on xp, so the number of people who could actually buy it was drastically cut.

I respect your opinion, I'm probably just going to disagree with it.

Had it come out on XP, I probably would have bought it. But noooo, it comes out on Vista which is effectively a beta that you pay for. So that's the failing right there.

I'm very dissapointed that I can't see my halo 2 vista stats.. what happened? Perhaps Microsoft betrayed them... no more bungie store either =(

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

Exactly. Gamers aren't stupid, especially PC gamers. It was a lackluster port with a lot of problems. M$ tried to force both Vista, and the GFWL interface on people at once. The noobs were turned away by the Vista requirement. Some thought (incorrectly) you had to have a gold Live subscription. The Halo PC player that wanted to use the mouse and keyboard was taken in the rear by the awful mouse lag plus the auto-aim for the controller. And on top of that, the Xbox player was anticipating H3. The game was DOA probably just from the buy in cost alone, and the one feature that may have expanded the player base (cross platform) was never done. Also, the game was DX9 only, which may have turned off some of the bleeding edge too.
It was a frustrating game...I bought it, played the campaign, dealt with awful mouse controls, but the multiplayer was so sloppy it was painful. And lets not forget that Vista is in the process of being buried by M$ to make way for the next unsecure OS nobody needs to buy. The deck was stacked against H2v from the start really. Sure some people got it working on XP, but I don't think that mattered too much. The support was cut off b/c nobody was buying the game, and things were 'good enough' for them to walk away as quickly as possible.

And that's why I don't like Microsoft. No concern for customers at all. Only the desire to sqeeze every last penny from every person in the world with there crappy products. Quite the opposite of Bungie. I'm sure that if Bungie owned the rights or whatever to the Halo games it would have turned out much better, and we could see our stats online.
