As I was playing Halo, I noticed that when the Needler's "bullets" hit something, tiny things that look like Flood bones fall to the ground.

So I was just curious if anybody else had noticed this, or if the Needler was a weapon developed by the Flood, (It looks rather Covenant/Forunnerish, though). I may be wrong.

But I do know that things do fall from the Needler's "bullets", so I thought, why not ask?

Thanks. :-)

I'm gonna say this once.... " The Flood " Are hardly an alien race... they're like the common cold only Life Size germs....stop with the intelligent race stuff...they're the equivelent of bugs.

It's so fun to fire a needle in to one of the small flood bugs (donno wat they're called) and see them run around with a needle half they're size stuck to them... hehe...

Infection forms
Someone I know used to call them flugs

Needler rocks against the fllod as the dont do much dodging, just run like hell when you use it on combat forms.

Definitely NOT a Flood weapon. The Flood are like the crappy bugs, bacteria and other primitive things that are around us now.

They do have some intelliegence, like how to use weapons and repair starships, but that is most likely learnt through trial and error or absorbed from the knowledge of their hosts.

What I don't get about the Needler is why it is the only weapon that has active rounds. Plasma weapons have 1 battery (that can be replaced, yet the method to do so is so far unknown) that kicks a hell of a lot of power, yet the Needler has rounds (bullets) that can be easily inserted. I was just wondering why the Needler is unique in this way.

^ Because it shoots needles...not plasma.

That sure as heck sounds like an alien race to Jay. They assimilate knowledge and use it to expand their presence. The fact that their brains and most memories are captured shouldn't disqualify the Flood if they use those brains and memories to plan an escape from the ringworld.

The small flood are called Infection form. And the Flood are not stupid bugs, they have little one on one defense, but their strength is that they swarm over their prey. For me, the Flood are similiar to the Borg on ST, and also to the alien race in the Alien movies. They all occupy their host organisms and take over parts of what they need.
