"'Tis better to be silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt."

I can't connect to any server on Halo PC or custom addition. It retries the server 4 times then says "unable to join game." I have a toshiba satellite with vista. It also says my hardware specs are below minimum before I start the game.

Thinking of something witty to write here since 2004...

Your PC's hardware has nothing to do with connecting to a game. Have you tried a different server. You might have a strict NAT and are trying to connect to a host who also has strict NAT.

Most likely I'll try and fix it but I'm not a wiz with that stuff. To google!

Try this first: From the main Halo screen select "settings" then "network setup." Then change the server port to whatever you want.... the halded.exe server defaults to the default setup so............................
what I do is: server port 2304, client port 2305

try turning off your fire wall. I have had this problem before. I couldnt get my fire wall to let it through even though I set it so it could. You may not even have to turn it off, if you know how to allow all packets. When ever I hooked up to the page with the servers, my fire wall counted thousands of packets blocked within a few seconds.
