Whilst looking through the bios of some of the Bungie staff I noticed Chris Butcher had an E-Mail adress was listed, and appreciated fan mail concerning Halo 2. Over the space of about five months I sent him three, and all were returned. I'm posting his replies here so everyone can have a look-see.

Also, in my opinion the first five levels were more fun than the other five. (I admit "Two Betrayals" and "The Maw" were very fun, but fighting the Covanant is more fun than the Flood. And I have to admit the Library was my least favorite level. Halo is still the best game ever though! And could you please tell me where I could find the instructions to unlocking some of Halo's more elusive easter eggs, like the one Jamie, the lead designer at Bungie left for his girlfriend.

It's what you grunts are fighting to protect")? Is it a reference to the conversation two Terrans have in the brilliant PC strategy game Starcraft ("Hey Sarge? Why do we always have to listen to this -blam!-?" "Because I'm in charge, that's why")?

It's not a reference to Starcraft. If anything, it is an homage to almost every movie about the Vietnam war ever made.


Thanks, and I don't mind too much about the delay. The worst thing you could do is rush the game. It'll be worth the wait.

Thanks for the email. I can't really elaborate on most of your points, but if you keep an eye on the weekly halo updates you may see answers to many of them.
