Rebellion in small things to let the world know I haven't surrendered.

Congratulations.

And that code was pretty sneaky. I never would've noticed it, if no one had said anything.

Code implies singular. I think the other one was snagged pretty quickly too.

Honestly, I'm a bit surprised to hear that Halo 2 has yet to reach one billion games. Nonetheless, 798 million is very impressive. I'm actually pretty amazed to see that, after nearly 5 years, literally thousands of people are still playing Halo 2 each day.

Absolutely incredible for Halo 3, though. Congratulations!

I wonder how many days of play time I have?

Well lets use your numbers on the game length. So...

3min 19sec per game X 4391 games = 242hours or 10.11days

10.11 days of my life, devoted to Bungie

"Lamh Laidir An Uachtar"

Bungie, I humbly thank you. I must complement you, and I do apologize if I bear the resemblance of a gushing fanboy.

Many moons ago, on an Original Xbox system in my friend's room I first played a game known as Halo: Combat Evolved. It was like nothing i'd ever played before, absolutely revolutionary. It was strangely perfect, almost too good. It took everything I wanted in a shooter, and mixed it all together with an engaging storyline that held me like a hobo on a ham sandwich.

Next came the release of Halo 2, and I recall going straight to a friend's house after school to play, my first game being FFA Slayer on Zanzibar. I remember grabbing the Energy Sword for the first time, feeling a rush of power, finding and camping the interior of the base, and instinctively donning the mannerisms of Leatherface of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, squealing and yelling and making chainsaw noises galore (yeah, sometimes I make myself wonder...).

The first week of Halo 2's release there was not a day I did not play it over Xbox Live, despite not owning an Xbox or a copy myself.

It wasn't until quite a while after Halo 2's release that I actually got an Xbox of my own (some genius at Gamestop informed my mom that Xbox contained "only 'adult' games"), but when I did, I can recall the euphoria of my first own gamertag, and the days of coming home from school or at night on weekends and playing Halo. It was an unofficial rule, when all my friends and I got home at night, we'd all get on Halo, and play until the wee hours of the morning.

Since then i've become engulfed in all things Halo, the books (some of the best i've read), the style (You don't know how many people have asked me where Beaver Creek is (the Camper's Paradise)), and the swag (I swear to God if you had a day on HSN i'd be bankrupt).

And that brings us to today, with Halo 3. I bought a 360 solely for the Beta, and it was one of the best purchases i've ever made. I preordered Halo 3 (Legendary Edition) in March of 2007, I wasn't taking any chances. When I first got my hands on it, I remember the glory of uncovering Master Chief's helmet (which still remains in its box covered by its cloth until I can find a proper display area), and the glory of the game itself.

It's been one hell of a ride, Bungie, and thanks for driving. Even though sometimes we had to stop so I could relieve myself, or to pick up one of many really friendly looking hitchhikers that I spotted (My bad...)

As a loyal member of the Se7enth Column, I remove my hat for you. Congrats.

-John "Jack" O'Brien

P.S. If you could just tell me one thing... In Halo 2 Was the Prophet Of Regret beatable on Mythic Mode? Or was it just a way to say that no one could beat Mythic Mode in its entirety? This question has been burning inside me for ages, having completed the rest of the game on Mythic, he remains my one last barrier to Mythic status (which I would love to have on my business cards one day).

Dear Bungie,

The first thing I thought when I saw that stunning 64000 YEARS of total playing time, was what would have happened if all those people had spent that time one doing something like, oh say.. curing cancer. Or AIDS. This world would be a paradise, war would be a thing of the past, peace would reign supreme. Or how about using that time to rebuild the economy. Or heaven forbid, working! If all that time had been spent working at minimum wage, we would have made a total of $4 485 120 000 (4.5 TRILLION dollars), suppose there are 1.5 million halo 3 players, I don't know the exact number as I couldn't find it, but I assume it must be around 1.5 million. That would mean that each and every halo 3 player would have made nearly $3000!

And so, I hereby conclude that had you, Bungie, not made Halo 3, millions of lives would've been saved, the economy would be booming, and we would all have ample spending money. But alas, I would not have my 50. So I suppose it is in fact worth it. Nothing brings a luke warm smile to my face quicker than seeing a nice 50 next to a a ring of gold.

All the best,
Fraser
