Well, these guys got you covered...But I'mma chim in my two cents.
Basically it takes time...and a lot of paitence, You have to be able to stick with it...I don't have alot of paitence but since I'm such a big fan I was able to endure my anger which was giving me random impulses to destory the game in all sorts of manners when I first started. But as I played more, I got more confident, and I started to do things like rise sensitivity, jump in a group of elites (on legendary) and duel with em, and attempt other things fear could repress you to do.
Playing on legendary is very good for getting better...Anybody who tells you they aren't good enough to beat legendary and they have played halo for a while are probably frustrated with the fact that it's a little difficult or easily frustrated in general.
have some personality when playing, this takes confidence to chunk a plasma grenade at someone from 20 yards out and stick in his face with it. Jumping just enough to peak over a hill and give a guy a head shot with a pistol. Jump around and aim with a sniper rifle. Trust me, it's hard, but when you start gaining confidence you'll learn it's much easier
So, lets recap, have no fear, practice (but not too much you don't want to be a couch potato), and have some personality when playing. Have fun too..it's just a game.
