Oh, and the idea of having a really powerful magnet shoot something big and heavy, really far, isn't that newfangled or futuristic.

Unless their "Gauss Rifle" has been funded by the US Government, then I think the CIA will be paying them a visit soon, if they're as good as you say they are.

"The right to bare arms" is a horribly mis-understood statement.
If you walk around LA with a concealed rifle or pistol, you will be thrown in jail.
I dont recommend you try it.

And its not like they really use them as weapons. they use them for reseach.

What? I cant even understand your statements anymore, they're grammatical nightmares.

Listen, just stop wasting our time.
I could care less if you owned a "Gauss Ruler" The fact is there is no such weapon that exists (that we know of) that can do any amount of destruction by flinging an electromatically charged BB.
End of discussion.

June 2004 issue of Popular Science... it has a story about "The Pentagon's Weapons of the Future." I'm holding it right in front of me.

Edit: They also talk about a torpedo that swims in an air bubble, that one plane with the laser to shoot down rockets, a satelite that launches "rods" toward the earth, and a couple of other things.

Exactly... we don't use them NOW, they are experimental right NOW, however, I'm sure they do exist, and are very possible.
