With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.
The Covie flagship at the Battle of Reach went invisible? .... I don't remember that, and I have hard time believing it. Too bad I can't recheck that, since my book was stolen...
And that particular flagship's plasma weapons (plasma beams instead of torpedoes... like pulse lasers but more deadly) seems much like how Cortana reconfigured the Ascendant Justice's plasma turrets (plasma beams instead of torpedoes...). Lets remember that the Forerunner Crystal can bend space/gravity/time... The Prophets have shards of it. Maybe they can rebuild it... If so, they might've used it to go to Reach while Cortana was there for the second time. Maybe they took back the flagship in that timeframe, then used the crystal again and took the ship back to before the Battle of Reach. Then they used it in the Battle of Reach to stop the PoA from getting it again. (you might be thinking, it was already used... somewhat ture). Due to the absolute obsurdness of Time, things get all messed up from there. They use the flagship at the Battle of Reach... it blows up.... Then they go and get it "again," and send it to Halo to stop the PoA... And history (or future) repeats itself. This is very confusing, I know. But this might explain why the Covie AI reminds Cortana of herself, since it might actually be a corrupted Cortana from the future (or maybe when the book said that, it was simply referring to the fact that it might've been copied from a human ai). If Cortana was captured in an "alternate" past, then that would've been how the Covenant got the laser tech.
This theory isn't a terribly good one, forgive me. Just trying it out.
Things that might prove this wrong:
-Why did the Ascendant Justice not have the altered plasma turrets at Halo when the timeline was altered due to interference with the past? (Wait,... did the Chief or the other characters even get to see it fire before they took it over? And after they commandeered it, did they use the Plasma Turrets "before" Cortana altered them?.... if not, then maybe Cortana only thought she altered them).
-The concept of time travel itself.... does it affect the future already experienced by someone, thus affecting that person (as many think)? Or does it make "alternate" pasts, hmmmm? Perhaps we'll never know.
-If the Covenant recaptured it in the past, then did it affect the destruction of Uneven Elephant?
Again, this "theory" isn't very good. I apologize. It may help explain some stuff, though, even though its incredibly easy to really disprove the thing. Just trying it in full for the first time... I don't really believe that its anywhere near being the truth myself....
Just my thoughts.
