I was just reading another thread where I member said there was a difference between a newbie (simply being new), and a noob (making stupid, irrelevant comments, etc) and it seems to make some sense. Just something I have been noticing...
It's cool to see people responding to this forum in a positive way, and I thank you call, Cyber huggs all around lol! I have never participated in a forum, or websight, like I am with this one and it is really cool to see everybody so involved, and like I said so positive, about what Bungie, Halo, and how we bow down to them.
And yes maybe I overreacted a bit (I tend to do that), and mistook advice for something negative. Thank you for pointeing this out "jessethekid".

there is a differance between noobie/newbie and noob/n00b, but most people if called any of these take it the wrong way, so we jsut think dont use them at all....

Really, the farther the word gets from newbie, the more ignorant the accuser is, and the more futily he's trying to insult someone else. Now, the word newbie has been defined as a more welcoming name while the ever popular noob (or n00b) have a more derrogatory connotation.

i think in order of least insulting to most insulting it goes:
newbie - newb - noobie - noob - n00b

they are the onyl ways i know of, but there are probrably more... we arent allowed ot use any of em, (sorry for doing it now by the way, but i didnt say anyone was one of those things) are there any others that anyone knows of?

I have never been called a noob, newbie, or whatever. It does seem that those who call others noob are in fact fart knockers and should be taken outside a beaten with a rubber hose. That is just my oppinion.
