Bungie Pentathlon - who actually cares ?

Posted by: mgal3
I think what can help separate the circular room repetitiveness are the numerous ways you can go about taking them on. For the first half i usually gun my way through, but for the last half when you get off the tank i find using stealth is a lot more fun. Try to beat all of them without firing one round. If you can time the patrol movements properly you can do it but it's pretty tough.

Yep, its what you make of it...if you only play the game one way then you are only going to have a 2D experience.....playing a game several ways, whether it be stealth / run'n'gun or even the skull options of Halo 3, is always the best way to do it.

Getting hung up about circular rooms however is a tad picky.....but each to their own

I really didn't care that the rooms were similar. I still don't. It's the gameplay and choices available to me that make my experience great.

For instance:

Do I charge in?
Do I try and stealth past the patrols and sneak away?
Do I go "Sam Fisher" and take everything out without any knowing?

Without them seeing you? How is that even possible?

I always liked sniping the Elite that piloted the Banshee under the bridge in the final battle with the Marines in this level. Then you can go snag it and fly it around in place you're not supposed to like all the way back to the beginning, ha.

Well, a lot of them. I had to alert them to fight the Chieftain, but it was interesting to stretch the limits of stealth in H3.

I couldn't do that without getting Camo equipment. Every single enemy, Flood included, seemed to have ultra-heat-vision when I tried to sneak past.

Hell, sleeping Grunts woke up when I walked around them!

Yah,
ALL of Halo:CE was awsome. But, especially Aontcr.

Awesome level. I can do it in about five minutes on Legendary.

RIP Halo 2

My friend would drive the tank and I would drive the warthog. I would get my marines in it. I remember that part where you drive down the spiral stone place down to where the invis is on the dead elites and you can't drive any further. Not sure how to describe it. There are hunters down there and there's a line of marines running from the hunters. I would always jump the warthog off the cliff and try to land on the marines below. Sometimes it would be glorious and I'd crush and slide through all of them.

Haha! I have found a friend!!! I used to do this !! I know where you mean, the part at the end of the spiral ramp is blocked so you have to go on foot!

Awesome

You are both EVIL.

I'd go off the edge with the Scorpion and try and land on a Hunter.

I did that so many times. I would always take the marine's sniper afterward.

We all do it !! , come clean chickenlittle - you must have been involved in some marine related beatings

I for one love using a marine driving a ghost as target practice with the rocket launcher
