Ok i DLed the new update, but why are "superjumps" still allowed? People can still use them to jump to the top of the windmill or the top of the base in Zanzibar? Am i wrong in saying that it is still cheating? The day OF the new update i saw two kids on the top of the base sniping... and i wonder why wasnt that taken out? I mean i never saw anyone use the rocket/sword glitch and they got rid of it, but when i see these everyday they are still there? That doesn't make sense to me.
You ARE wrong to say that this (Superjumping) is cheating. Here are my reasons why superjumps are "A-Okay" :
1. It is painfully obvious that these superjumps were intentionally added to the game. The portions of the maps where superjumps are possible are perfectly designed for said jumps. In burial mounds, the crack in the side of the cliff is ....Juuust makeable, with the proper aiming and torque, etc. At Zanzibar, the superjump to the top of the base requires that you pass through a hole in said roof that was placed in just the right position for an easy ascent. Getting to the top of the windmill...well...Basically, you can only do a superjump in one part of the map, in one particular place. Therefore, isn't it obvious that, since the superjump locations are placed in the most strategically logical location for getting to the most strategically beneficial area, that it was an intentional game addition? Bungie put the superjumps in, and waited for each one to be discovered, so they could lean back in their chairs, arms folded, and marvel at the ingeniousness of their slaves.
Oh yes, and before I forget :
2. Superjumps can be performed by anyone, with adequate practice. If you learn how to superjump, you will have an advantage over people who have not taken the time to practice the technique. Lets take Corky from Life Goes On, and put him in the ring with Jackie Chan. Jackie Chan would most likely win, because he has taken the time to practice and perfect his techniques, whereas Corky would run around aimlessly, shooting at whatever moved, with no apparent strategy in mind. Yes, the more skill a person has, the more likely they are to succeed.
So keep practicing! Then, when you finally perfect your superjumping technique, you'll rocket through the air screaming "WHOOP WHOOP!" or something to that effect, and you'll realize what you had been missing out on!
.S., I have no idea how to superjump. But I'm practicing!
Wow, i can't believe people even post things like this. If the superjumps were intentionally in the game, then Bungie wouldn't say that they're cheating. And yes we know that anyone can do a superjump provided they practice, but anyone can use standby provided they get the right type of modem. It's cheating, if you do it in a game you'll get reported. It's like saying you should get to take 3 steps in basketball because your smaller then the other people and they can travel further in 2 steps than you can. WHOEVER INVENTS THE GAME GETS TO DEFINE THE RULES, BUNGIE SAYS IT'S CHEATING, SO IT'S CHEATING, AND YOU'RE A CHEATER. BUNGIE YOU SHOULD BAN THIS GUY FOR ADMITTING TO CHEATING, OR AT LEAST TRYING TO CHEAT.
Allrighty, Whitey. Let me tear down your post piece by piece so you feel more like the idiot you deserve to. Bungie says that superjumping is cheating? Could you provide me with a link to where it says that? Because as far as I'm aware, they haven't mentioned Superjumping as a form of cheating anywhere, but I could be wrong. I sometimes am. Now, they've been working on the autoupdate for months. If superjumping (Which is an extremely popular technique) were considered cheating, wouldn't you think this issue would have been addressed in the update?
Now, if indeed they said that superjumping was cheating, they were pretty stupid not to address this VERY EXPLOITABLE and probably most widely used *cheat*.
Now, as for your comparing superjumping to standbying - practicing or performing a superjump, something that is (intentionally or not) in-game, is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from using a physical device to manupulate the game play. Your mentioning that is extremely thoughtless. You cannot kill someone who is standbying. Actually, you CANNOT EVEN PLAY while someone is standbying. Whereas, with superjumping, it is quite easy to kill the person who just happens to have gotten to a higher platform.
Ban me for cheating? You're a moron, dude. Like I said, I don't know how to superjump, and even if I did, I really don't think I'd have time to perform most of the superjumps while playing a game before someone came along and capped me. Superjumps are great for custom games, but as for myself, I'm and in-your-face player. I hunt players down. I'm not superjumping, or standbying, or anything like that. My record with Bungie is squeaky clean.
So, I say go ahead and do your superjumps. Why let someone else have the adavantage? Being at an elevated position from your enemy, as anyone can tell you, almost guarantees a win.
So stop being an idiot, ok?
