ok, this is annoying. no one is even trying to solve the problem. the problem is, why doesn't it work, and everyone is telling me that it doesn't work. i already know that.

the thing that is wrong with it is, that if a=b, then a-b=0

so, by dividing both sides by a-b, in the first cancellation step, you divide both sides by zero. thats a big no-no.

and i agree that you wouldn't use a and b to represent the same thing, but the purpose of having two equal variables is to confuse the reader and cause them to overlook the fact that you divide by 0, by writing 0 as a-b

Good point on the not seeing anything when going the speed of light. If you divide by zero, you don't get an answer so you can't get 2=1. Black holes are where god divided by zero. Black holes are interesting.

Black holes are fun. You can like, go through them, and then end up dead, or in some other dimension or something.

Black holes are the answer to everybody's pressing question. "Where in the -blam!- did all my (insert commonly disappearing object here) go?" or "Why do I have to learn calculus if i'm taking an art major (my roomy's question)?" 2 words. Black holes.

Argh! >_<
I'm taking Analysis of Functions, going into college Calculus. I don't want to come onto my Halo forum to be confronted with more math!
*proceeds to rip hair out*
Nice find though.
