Erepublik: Save the world from oppression!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I wouldn't know but people sometimes make mistakes in spelling. As for those who flame halo 2 and say it sucks, well, they are just a bunch of inmature people that like to bust down on us. They want to be heard. They want recognition.

Amen!

I used to hang out in these forums, especially short after launch...but now I've retreated to The Maw and have friendly convos, rarely there are flamers, but we get an occasional H2 fanboy saying how -blam!- the pc is...then we never see their face again (insecurity...).

Please stop complaining, stop the flaming, stop the damn war going on in the Halo 2 forums. Let's bring it back to what it was.

That was all that I meant to do. Make people remeber the great times we all had together before November 9th! Not to go on and complain, essentially just adding to what is already here. I am HOPING that a few people might read this, and then THINK...then that might spread to a few friends, and those friends to their friends, and so on and so forth. I'm not hoping to stop it all together, (that would be near impossible) but am hoping that it may slow it down a little. Try to bring it down a notch, bring it closer to what it used to be a little more!

I agree completley, I used to post on here quite a bit, either for fun, to help others out, or just trying to kill some time. Now I very rarely post here, I will come to the forums to see what is being said to try to keep up to date on whats happening. But I rarely find a post that is worth responding to.

  • 04.23.2005 9:47 AM PDT

Not a bad post, however community discussion belongs in The Septagon.

Does anybody here remember the great times we all had together, before November 9th? People on here were decent, could talk, spell, not complain about a great game, and just enjoy themselves. Bungie used to be a place where kids to adults would come home from work/school, race to their computer, and get on Bungie.net. What has happened to these forums?

They used to be a place where people could enjoy their day. Read theories, talk with friends, make up their own theories, and just plainly put; get away from their everyday life, to something great. How many of you are TRUE Bungie fans. Came along BEFORE November 9th, haven't overly complained about the game. It's fine if you say that you don't like this aspect of the game, and go on. But seriously people, come on. Bungie doesn't HAVE to keep this place around to hear you all cry about a game that you don't like. If you don't like a certain aspect of the game, I can almost guaruntee to you, that it has already been spoken about.

I have a question for all of you who are here to complain. Why do you feel the need to come here and complain? What do you hope to achieve by doing this? What good could come of it? Why do you have to put these moderators and others through this all? Before you go and get mad next time, stop and THINK about what you are about to do, answer these 4 questions next time.

Bungie, the game is great. I know you already know this, but ignore these people. There are many more people out there who like this game as much and more than these people dislike certain aspects of this wonderful creation.

One last word to those who would complain. If you don't like the game, make it yourself. The Bungie Team put their all into this game because they ENJOY what they do in life, not for money (though there may be a select few...Frankie *wink*), not for fame (Frankie!), and most definitely, not to 'BAND' people!

I would agree with most of what you say.

It is important to realise that Bungie have really raised the bar on 1st person shooters and people have actually fogotten to realise that overall, in terms of a well rounded 1st person shooter, there really isn't much else out there still.

Having said that, I DO believe in constructuve feedback. I am a fan of Halo 2 but I do not think that it is immune to some CONSTRUCTUVE critisism, providing that it is constructive - not some boring winge which provides nothing but pointless garble on this and that. We should make the feedback positive and productive so that Bungie can act on it....right now they probably read these sites and just discuss how it is sad that their game is love by a bunch of thick morons who just have to -blam!-.

Bungie has put more into this game than other developers. I cannot think of one other developer that has actively sought to work so hard on a patch that it significantly improves multiplayer gameplay (my opinion).

As for the cynic who just told the author of this thread to chill out. You and your comment are not welcome here. Online forums are a place where people do come to chat about things that matter to them. Who are you to critise somones right to express how they feel about something which is important to them - and others who share this site.

You obviously have the wrong hobby and should not be here - this is our way of chilling - you go and find yours.

The good old days were pre-forum.

The new hotness was worse (member-wise) than the old crapness, and I assume that bungie.net went downhill after the forum was introduced.

I say "worse". I hope this proves a point - your time-of-joining will always seem better than it is now. It doesn't necessarily mean it was.

That I completely agree with, but I was referring to after the new hotness. I used to be on here before the forums, though not as much as before Halo 2, but I agree. I'm just bringing back a few good memories, and helping critics to think a little bit more than before.

P.S. I do see that I wasn't a member on here, on this name. I have another one, though I haven't used it in at least 2 years. I have gone through 6 internet service providers since then. I would gladly provide you with a name, but I honestly can't remember it, much less the email and password to sign-in!

-Quaere verum.

Got a report? Use the report tool or send a pm.
Chairleg Productions presents: 'Console Wars' and 'Games as Art?' (also on Halo Waypoint).

How is it that people such as 'sexy legs davis' say it was good here before Nov 9th, when they joined after Nov 9th? I don't get it.

But yeh. You are right. They were good times, but i hear the times before that were even better.

Yep! The farther back you go on B.net, the better the times are! Not blaming any mods...so don't take it like that...

Yo Halo53, I'm real happy for you and I'ma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best bungie.net profiles of all time. OF ALL TIME!

I would say the good old days are before the new forums, Before April 2004.

Maybe even further back than that

I haven't been here for a while. I stopped coming after the pirated copy Halo 2 started going around and I didn't want to spoil it for myself. All I'm going to say is, last I was here for a significant period of time was pre-November 9th, and it was no better than this. There were flamers, flame wars, spammers, and other people who had less than no maturity. This not just specific to Bungie, as going online and gaining the mask of annonomity makes otherwise decent people turn into complete jerks.
