I honestly didn't expect this to be a place to come and reminisce about the old times, but I'm enjoying it. This has kinda turned into a version somewhat like the older forums, people coming in and talking, mostly enjoying themselves (except for the occasional flamer, etc;), and setting up games here and there. I'm beginning to think that I got my point across to people (that is to stop and remember, then go on), and more! Thank you all for these thoughts on the old times!

Well the Good Old Days are always gone thats why they are the Old Days. Need an example just wait till High School is only a memory (if I could call thoes days good). The 7th Column is always growing which means more members which unfortunatly means some of the other members who spam and flame. Just ignor them and look for better threads.

Is it me, or are we starting to sound like grumpy old men?

"Sonny, in my days, we didn't have xboxes or Halo's. We had a Mac, and we had to wind it up first!"And no one ever heard of halo! We had GNOP, that's all there was! When they introduced the forums, i couldn't believe it! It was like pure magic to me! Yes sonny, in my days.."

I came here after 9th November because I was pissed off at how many people were complaining about halo2 and wanted to shut them up...

fact: Halo2 is a game you find at every electronics shop and is one of the most sucessfull games on the market and if you think it sucks then you need to get more attention from your mummie.

As for the people at halo2sucks.com who think Bungie sucks, I bet they didn't know Bungie existed before halo and try to convert people to hate it and encourage people to spam bungie making them think that they are "voicing their opinion"

If you don't like the game then leave these forums and on your way out ask a mod to remove your account from existance so we have more space for the next cool person who wants to join.

Devil is Double is Deuce and Joker always trumps Deuce.

Pre-Nov. 9th New Mombasa was fun. I have yet to experience more of a community feel on bungie than I did back then. Sharing every little scrap of info, or unreleased screenshot, or waiting for the updates and then excitedly discussing them. The ILB craze, etc. It was fun.

Ah. This must be some new meaning of the word "fun" I wasn't previously aware of.

Sam Fisher: Give me some intelligence or you'll be pushing up daisies in a cemetery full of guys just like you.
Hostage: I don't have any intelligence!
Sam: He he. You just called yourself stupid.

A worthier, new nobody.

I have to say I agree and I empathize. I only started coming to b.net a few months before Halo 2 came out and only signed up a month or so before it came out but I know what you mean. Yes the pointless spamming and flaming is annoying but I have another question; what about the future fans?

I didnt play Marathon or Myth o Oni, or even Gnop :-), because truth be told I just didn't play games then(too young, economics, etc ...) but Halo on the Xbox was the first console game I played and I was hooked. I loved it and I'd like to call myself a Bungie fan but I suppose my question is this - can I?

Is it even possible for people who only started playing Bungie games with Halo or Halo 2 to be considered fans or will we forever be associated with the sprawling, tumultuous masses of spammers and flammers that came to Bungie (and b.net) with Halo?

PS. no more leet speak please - it's painful to read :-D

Nah. You're pretty much a Bungie fan if you simply like Bungie. The thing is that alot of the older member didn't come here for Halo and Halo 2, but also for MArathon and Myth, whilst the "new" people just come here for halo/halo 2. Thus creating two different groups, one group that comes here to talk about all sorts of Bungie games and Bungie in general, while the other group just talks about halo 2 and xbox.

This is why it seems that older member are the "real bungie fans", and all the newer members appear to be just Halo fans. Truth is, both can be fans of equal size.

Most people don't know what it was like as far back as you do, (Example: Me! But I do know a bit farther back than most people) I guess I could classify myself as a 'true' bungie fan. I mean, I never really posted on here until right before Halo 2, but I have played Myth, Oni, and Marathon (that was only recent though). But like I have said in an ealier post, I have an older name. I've been thinking on it and if I remember correctly, then it was about...late 2002, early 2003. Wait, now I remember, it was Novmeber of 2002. Now if I were to sit down for a couple of weeks, I could remember the name and hopefully have a Bungie Mod look it up for me! (If that is possible, but I imagine that it is...)

Edit: You know what's funny, I just realized that just another fan joined exactly 2 years after Reiginko...Just thought that I might point out that little tid-bit...
