so we have something cool coming with halo 2. XBOX live. Which is sweet because now every few months we could have 2 or 3 new multiplayer maps to play via downloadable content.
But here the problem, I play splinter cell live all the time and I host lan parties at my house at least twice a week for halo and sc2. When I go on live it updates my profile, then when I go play via lan I cant- it says that my friends games arent up to date. They cant even copy over the new maps:( so does this mean that livers and laners wont be compatible? Is Bungie gonna charge for new maps like Ubisoft then not let people copy them over via memory card? I think this is a big problem that should be addressed because I love lan parties more than I do live.
A few reasons is that live kinda sucks- its laggy, drops connections, people are poor sports, stupid punk kids with annoying voice masks, and cheaters. I dont personally believe that live can handle halo 2 from my experinces with it what do you think?
p.s. check out this great site for some exclusive halo 2 vids and screen shots.

I think bungie will have some xbox live servers like they have for halo pc so you would get a good experience with live. And if you have laggy games then you should find better host some people try to host a lot of people and they know their connection can't do it. So you can't blame it all on live it's also your host that could make your live experience sucky.

thats a good point, but all you need to do is copy your LIVE profile ot their box, get the updates (not necessarily the levels) and get their X-Box to download the update.... then afterward, delete the LIVE profile off thier X-Box (if you want)

After all you said you host the parties at your house, so you have the good connection, problem solved!

(it would however be nice to have the game automatically copy over updates from system to system in game, if they arent the same version)
