Anyone for Grifball?
Sniper, Driver or Pilot. Tell me when you need me.
Just a hole in the Weapon section - How do you use Trip Mines effectively? Once, on Workplace Bravo CTF, I accidentally picked up a Trip Mine, which I found no use for. I saw, to my luck, a mongoose with two players riding it. I quickly reacted by putting the mine down on the ground and letting the mongoose run over it. My tip, in short, is as follows:
When you find yourself on a map which has a trip mine in it, and a flag nearby, camp in the cover until, as expected, some form of vehicle drives towards you. Quickly, making sure the driver won't see the Trip Mine until it's too late, deploy it. Make sure it's on the ground, otherwise it won't detonate. Throwing it at a vehicle won't work. As long as it's just a Mongoose, you can be sure you won't get much damage while putting the mine down. If it is a mongoose, boldly step into the road and quickly, yet precisely, put the mine down.
An even better place to put a trip mine is in an enclosed place. Imagine a corridor or path way with a T-junction at your end. Place the trip mine on the corner, so an approaching enemy won't see it. Then wait on the other side of the T-juction, opposite your mine. If the victim decides to head towards you, BR them or use any close range weapon. This technique theoretically works, but I haven't tried it out.
