whenever i go on multiplayer it disconnects me after 4seconds-10 minutes. i know that many with 56k have this problem, but i have broadband, and my average ping is 0-50.i am running vista home premium 64 and avg free. my computer is powerful enough to play crysis max settings, so hardware is not a problem.what do i do?????
[i have created exceptions in windows firewall and avg, have tried compatibitity mode and running as admin]

I'm really unsure what the cause of your problem is but I'll do some research.

I think I have idea: ok like the artile says you'll have to run it in safemode.

so do the following: righ click on the halo icon/select properties/in the target box put
-safemode

put a space between the hyphen and the target line. should look something like this:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\halo.exe" -safemode

also try going into settings-videosettings on the halo start menu.

try this first.

see if you can set the settings so that the game will run properly.

I'm starting to think that Vista 64 bit is not combatible with Halo pc Combat Evolved.

You should try searching around maybe even contacting micrsoft. But I checked the compatibility center and the status of the game was unknown.

I also looked at other forums around the web and found issues with 64 bit.
I'm not sure if there is a patch/fix from microsft in order to solve this problem.

good luck.

thanks 4 the info.... safemode doesnt help, it just makes the game run windowed mode, low rez.i know what you were trying to fix, but that isnt the problem..its that halo says its lost network connection. i dont know why.... still, this game is massively endorsed by microsoft, and they should make it 64 bit compatible.

There is nothing wrong with 64 bit vista. I have been running halo pc for the better part of a year on vista business 64 with 0 problems.

Hi everyone, I am new to this chat and to Halo for the PC. I was trying to get to join an internet game and when I clicked on the internet button thingy, it appeared with a message saying that I need to have administrator privleges to download the required patch. I don't know how to fix it. I would greatly appreciate anyone that can help me out.

Right click on the shortcut you use to open the game and hit run as administrator.

OMG, thank you so much! Now I feel really stupid. But that is fine cause I had asked help from about 10 other people and they did not know either. So I'm not the only "stupid" one haha.

Okay I have another simple question and that's probably really easy, but I'm not smart much haha. Does anyone know how to do screenshots, and then where you find them after you do them? That would be cool and awesome if you can help me out with that.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

That message of the day is old, and no one bothers to update it. 1.08 is the latest.
