Read the last paragraph carefully...**Covenant intelligence believes that the Spartans MJOLNIR armor's shield was devised by reverse-engineering the Jackal shields, it was later improved upon it to make it much more efficient.***<<<< the MJOLNIR is not consisted of plasma. here's another goodie:)..

Energy Shields
The Elite's armor generates a recharging energy shield. This shield recharges after being depleted and can be enhanced by the Covenant's overshield technology. These shields are a better, more efficient version of the Jackal's energy shields offering all round protection.

The defensive capabilities of Elite Energy Shields can be improved by devices known as overshields.

The overshield technology is used by the Covenant to enhance their Elite warrior's shields by a factor of three. Once its container is broken the energy inside dumps directly into the nearest energy field and increases it.
nvm the overshield part,thats the power up to have three shields,the green,hot pink and ur normal shield.ignore that...cuz u already knwo what that does(tripples your shielding duh)

And yes,you're right,energy does do damage,and depends on the type of energy too,and this type of energy burns.but it's still not made of plasma.read what i posted.above.

Nvm here it is, no need to look,


and now my emp nade idea.HERE it is........ it works just like a sticky nade in the fact if it hits you its stuck, same with vehicles and the like.ok now its main effect.If it is thrown and lands on nothing(not stuck) it will detonate in a medium/large radius(7-9 feet) and it will staticafy your visor and totally deactivate your shields, they can recharge just like when they are shot down. now its secondary modes. if it lands on you/enemy it does not detonate but activates and disables the shields on whomever its attached to and prevents them from recharging for 15 seconds, plus you visor has a semi-static effect on it while the nade is attached(only stays on for 15 secs). now for its final effect. If the nade attaches or detonates near a vehicle the vehicle dies.(5 seconds for detonate 15 for stick) The vehicle cannot accelerate/brake/steer/or open a door if it has one(for banshee). This is not overpowered and was mainly thought up for CTF games to prevent people from getting away in hogs too easy..(also disables any weaponry on the vehicle)

LOL deidg nactal. But for my emp grenade idea no there is no paralyzing effect. maybe at worst it would slow down the guy by like 5-10% for a very minimal bonus. I dont want the EMP to be too powerfull.

i had the idea of a EMP nade with similar results just not so detailed, in my post "weapons you would like to see in Halo2" people also came out with mines, auto shotguns, railguns, etc etc some good ideas

well I dont like anything proximitied and or remoted for weaponry. It promotes camping and I very much dislike camping.but railgun and auto-shotgun sound excessivly fun.(excuse the bad grammer)

How about they appear about once per level(they wont last long) right before heavy combat areas usually...and in MP they only available in odd/rare/hidden spots.

So from what i've gathered from this topic. The shield in your opinion, should be support duel weilding, have a melee attack, be immune to all kinetic based projectiles, weak to energy.
So for every other duel weild combination of guns you can't throw grenades or melee, but since the shield is special somehow you can melee with it?

My question is... why not just pick up an overshield? You can be more agressive with your firepower, and you wouldn't have to worry about holding down the trigger and getting meleed from behind from their team mate because you're too busy cowering from the first guy shooting at you.

EMP doesn't effect spartan or elite armor, they're sheilded against EMP weaponry so these would be utterly pointless. read my site info that SS gave you in a link and check the armor pages for more information

MJOLNIR V

MJOLNIR V armor is constructed in overlapping layers. It is a sealed system, capable of extravehicular activity or operations in toxic atmosphere. **It is hardened against EMP** and radiation, and has environment filters that are completely effective at removing toxins and bacteria from local atmosphere.

The armor's shell is a multi-layer alloy of remarkable strength and has been augmented with a refractive coating capable of dispersing Covenant energy weapon attacks.

The battle suit contains a gel-filled layer that regulates temperature and can reactively change in density. The inner skin suit is a moisture-absorbing synthetic linked to an environment control computer and the "pilot's" UNSC-issue neural interface.

Each SPARTAN has a molecular fiber network within his brain, an upgrade to the standard "Command Neural Interface" (issued to all UNSC troops). This network translates electrochemical signals to digital code and routes them through an interface connection at the rear of the skull. His thoughts could now command the armor's movement and weapons, and input from the onboard sensors could come directly to his mind. Hang on I was gone for most of the day. And the suit says "hardend against EMP" not immune to it. I am assuming since its many many years in the future and that his suit is resistant to standard EMP attacks, there will be even better EMP tech now too. But I am saying my EMP grenade was developed by the covenant to help fight the spartens and human ground vehicles. They already dominate the air so the covenant decided the next thing to do was dominate the ground. Since the massive loss of life in the first game the covenant have decided to bring these grenades into full use to combat whats left of the spartens(they dont know how many are left). They are of an advanced tech made specifically to combat the spartens shield tech, they based its effectiveness on how it works against their own advanced shielding tech(which is almost exactly as the spartens since the spartens is just reverse engineered covenant shielding). The sparten shielding system would be vulnerable to this EMP attack just as if he wasent hardend to it, this was built for them.

Ok now for my rebuttle dynasty99.

1: you dont have to use the shield, your choice.

2: the shield MC has is an overshield(covers the whole body) and is therefore weaker than the concentrated shiled the jackals have(its focused into a smaller area). So therefore NOT weaker....duh

3: It is meant for heavy combat in which you are being fired at heavily and do not want to be turned into a squishy MC. Mostly going to be used for heavy assualts or when you get ambushed by lotsa baddies at once with nowhere to hide(it happens).
