Having a rather large problem with Halo on PC that's just making the campaign unplayable.
The game crashes...a lot. It becomes really annoying on Campaign as the point it chooses to crash is (almost) random. At any checkpoint within the game there is a risk of it crashing and once its crashed at that point it is impossible to get past, the game keeps crashing at that point whenever you load the save again. Creating a new game from the same level results in the same thing at a different point.

I would post my DXDiag but its too long so here's my system specs for now

Pentium D 2.80Ghz
2Gb DDR2 RAM
nVidia 7900GS (running latest drivers)
Windows XP Media Centre Edition 2005

I run the game in full high settings and usually force 8x Anisotropic Filtering. I have tried on low and came across the same problems

First of all, you're pretty vague on what campaign level it is.

Second of all, what does Halo CE have to do with this?

Try turning that off.

Tried turning off the forced AF before to no avail. The crashes can happen on any map from Truth and Reconciliation onwards.
Could it be that the game doesn't like my graphics card as it doesn't recognise it?
