December 25th 2001
9:30 Eastern Standard Time
Inside Ontario residence

I walked into my dinning room, and I see the large package. Knowing exactly what it was -since I was there when it was bought- I take to to my basement and put it in the same place where I kept my ancient Nintendo 64 (which I had to trade in for money to buy my Xbox, since at that time it was like $650 for 2 games, 2 controllers and the Xbox in a bundle). I quicly tear the rapping off my games, and hook up my Xbox. I place Project Gotham Racing near my feet and put the Halo disk on the tray. And the journey begins. In the opening cinematics I was in awe. "These graphics are amazing..." I said as I watched the Pillar of Autumn got attacked. I must have played that game for hours that Christmas morning. I never realized though, that this game would be the greatest I would ever play...so far.

My first Halo experience was the day I got my Launch Xbox. I got home only to find no power cord. I go back to Wal Mart and they told me to kiss off. So I went by my old Stomping grounds of the Electronics section where i used to work. Luckly the mangager of the section which was a friend gave me a cord. She had been working late that night for the xbox sale.

Once back home, I rounded the edge of this cord off so it would fit. I hooked it up and go well gee I'll play an hour. The next time I looked up at the clock it was 9 o' clock in the morning. I had been playing for 8 hours strait. That is when I knew for sure Halo was going to be my Favorite game of all time. Sure enough to this day I still play it both multiplayer and Single player.

i played it at a friends house for months before we even figured out the story (we refused to watch the cutsences) but it was fun trying to put everything together and then looking back at how stupid we really were (we thought halo itself was a space station and that cap. keyes was really on the floods side)

Ah my first experience was at a friends house after track practice. this was about a year ago around this time. we playe co-op on heroic. I of course was getting owned very badly and my friend was killing pretty much everything cause he'd owned it far longer than i had. we kept playing practically everday and i haven 't stopped since. i just got my own xbox about a month ago

I was at a party after a football season and i played the Truth & Reconciliation. That's when i knew that I had to buy an Xbox, even if it just was for Halo

I can't say I was at a friend's house (I hate him, but was over for a Spanish project video). They decided to allocate approximately 10 minutes to the video, and 5 hours to a 4 on 4 LAN. We were asked to rate ourselves so we could be placed on teams based on skill. I rated mysself a 5. They didn't believe me, and so the host made me do a co-op level. He had made it to the second level, "Halo." Yeah, I sucked. I couldn't even get over the bridge in the beginning, I fell off every time. So I was demoted to a "2" and pretty much got my ass handed to me throught the entire MP game.
About a year ago I finally bought Halo. Aside from NFL Fever, KOTOR, and PGR, it is my only xBox game, or at least the only one I play. Now I can own just about all of them...assuming I have the old controller. (I tried to play at a friends house with his controller S, and got owned. I just don't like the feel. For example, I reloaded on Longest instead of switching to a shotgun, and subsequently died).

So that's my story.

Ah, i remember my first time playing... that was a weird day. First of all, my friend was having a birthday party, so we had it planned to go to his house that night, and the guys were bringing Xboxes - which, at the time, i hated with a passion, being a diehard nintendo fan, but as you will see, i have realized the error in my ways. My gf broke up with me because she doesn't like the guys i was hanging out with, but did that stop me from going to play the game that my friends herolded as the best thing to ever interface with human hands? hell no. i went to that party, we set up the LAN, powered up the boxes, and i enterd a world of total devastation, 12 player - longest - rockets - 3 guys who were, and to this day remain the masters of our group, and 9 newbies. all out slaughterfest, i was hooked beyond imagination. to this day i dont own an xbox, but now that i see halo 2 is on its way - which i have know about since day one of its announcement - im saving up to get me one just for that occasion!

my story is similar to yours inspeculation, i first played on vacation in florida, my friend brought his to my hotel and he got me playing halo all night, level after level after level. the next day, another friend brought his, we got on system link and played for 36 hours. we soon stopped from pure exhaustion and the system was way overheated. i picked up this game very well and soon advanced to number 1 in every group of all my friends, everywhere i went, my next step is to enter a local tournament and see what i can do. the best feeling i got was when i got my first head shot with the sniper rifle and my first body shot with the rocket, i picked up the sniper rifle very well and to this day it is still my weapon of choice, and i can own. even today on 8 on 8 bording action people see my name blinking on their screen kil after kill after kill. neighbors fear me. it feels great to be good.
halo has changed my life,
thanks

My first experience:

Me and a buddy borrowed an x-box and halo from a friend. They had the x-box set up for surround sound, and little did I know that surround sound would screw up the sound on my TV, so beat HALO, on normal, the very first time we played it, and we did it with NO SOUND!

After he left, I was screwing around with the x-box, and I turned off the surround sound, and I beat it AGAIN right after that.

all in all, it was about 12 hours of gaming on the very first day.

Spartans Never Die.

My first Halo experience was great at first i thought it was wicked hard, but now that i have beaten if on every mode accept legendary it is easy now. On legendary I only have three more levels left The Library, Keyes, and Two Betrayals. Man my first Halo experience was great.

Leper Messiah Very nice poem, well done. But I must point that nicking Hitman 2s slogan is not smart. Although I hold nothing against this game i jsut feel that you could use your talent with poems to come up with something better.

I was in a youth center on an Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX. Some guy was playing a game where you run around and shoot little things. I was still big into Goldeneye, but hadn't played anything like this. I asked what he was shooting at, he said it was called a Grunt. "Cool, what game is it?" He said,"oh, its called Halo." And here I am today, playing up to about 2 and a half hours a day.

The first time I played was at Gamestop and I thought it sucked, it was hella slow compared to Quake, Timesplitters, and Unreal. I remember wondering why this game was so popular. Well a couple months later I bought a coumputer at Best Buy but brought it back. The whole installing a game and patches and getting use to the stupid keyboard and mouse pissed me off. I already had a PS2 and Gamecube but something was missing and the dude there recomended getting an XBOX and Halo. I was real hesitant. I thought the XBOX was a joke but what the hell. So I bring it home and set it up March 23 2002 and I can't stop playing, a few thousand hours of HALO (no lie) and it's just as sweet as ever, I've got so many friends and family members (even my 47 year old mom who plays splitscreen by herself controlling a dude with her feet for target practice when there is no one to play with) addicted to this game it ain't even funny, except for the times me and my friend both lost jobs because we couldn't stop playin. Who cares though it's all about HALO.

I have never been much of a gamer to get so obssesed and into a video game, that is untill halo came out. the day i first played it my brothers friend came over with his x-box and halo and started playing it. It instantanly caught my attention with the great graphics and action. And I immediatly fell in love with the 2 player campain mode. It was and still is by far the most exciting and interesting FPS i have ever played not to metion game in general. And for some reason found it hard as hell even on easy...i think the conrols were inverted. - deek

I had bought my X Box, and only one game (Nascar Thunger 2002, the store sucked). Lucky for me my best pal had a copy of Halo, and was willing to do without for a few days :).
