It was the month of December 2001. I went to the EB Games at the local mall to check out this new fangled machine the Xbox. They had the full version of Halo set up so I said sure. One thing led to another and 40 minutes had passed, I was heading into the next firefight on the second level Halo, and the store employee had to come up and tell me that I was on it too long. I looked at him like he was crazy but then I saw the crowd of people standing behind me. Oops. I knew then I had to get this game.

Ahhhh, yes. I remember my first play. It was at my friends house. First was AotCR, my friend said it was too hard to shoot banshees at long range with the tank. I ran him over and shot down the banshee. Next I played the library on normal. First I died when I backed ontoon of those over hangs by the elevator, firing at the flood. My friend watched me die because i ran him over.

Right then... lets remember shall we? hmmmm. well i was at my friends house and we went to town to look for stuff for his mum. me and my friend went into the games workshop and saw some eldar but then we saw the X-box hangin in those box like things and we decided to play. Neither of us owned one so we didnt know what we was doin. We managed to get a game going on sidewinder where i discovered my love for the worthog and the ghosts it wasnt until i bought the game that i realised there were banshees which kick ass! After 40 minuetes my friend got bored of sidewinder and we played cooperative and we played the silent cartographer. I loved it cos the beginning beach assult was great cos things like that always are. After a whole hour and a half of not being bothered my friends mom came to us and said we had to go. When i got home the only thing i wanted was an Xbox and halo... But now ive played it to death and the game is kinda boring there is only so much you can do on it. 16 player is cool but its the only thing worth doing anymore.

I just got out of work and it was a nice day out probably 70 my friend from work says you want to go to my house and play xbox. I said sure. Me and a couple of friends from work go over to his house he has a 72" tv and surround sound. All we did was play 4 player bloodgulch. I was hooked and I didn't even know there was a campaign. All i knew was bloodgulch. I sucked at it for the first time but after a few hours i was getting better. We played halo everyday that week after work and it was awsome. I ended up going and getting halo because I already owend and xbox. My friend went out and bought an xbox and halo and now we play lan games 16 people with projectors and that is awsome play from 8pm to 5 am. Cant wait for halo2.

Lets see, it was a few months after X-mas, and I had gift cards burning a hole in my pocket. I went to Walmart with only enough money to buy one game for my new Xbox. Browsing around I saw Halo, I'm a FPS fan and it looked fairly interesting. I remembered one of my friends saying it was really good. I'll also have to admit that saying it was voted Game of the Year was also a push to get me to buy it (this was about a year after it came out). I bought it and I had to wait another week to play it because my Xbox was at my moms house (my primary residence), I was at my dad's house at the time.

When I got to my house, after reading the manual and the game box about a million times over waiting to play it, I finally was able to pop it in. I must say the opening sequence was enough to impress me, and then the awesome chanting in the main menu screen was awesome! I was very impressed with the graphics when I played the first level, but it was Halo (the second level) that really hooked me, the warthog specifically. And the rest is, as they say, history!
