(i didn't put this in the official thread for the fact that it is pretty lengthy but please read)
OK, if someone has had a similar idea to mine im not stealing yours, lol i just signed onto the forums today, but this is one (actually one and a half, lol u'll see later) of my takes on the Halo 2 Storyline:
Now, we know that in fact the Covenant do NOT want to destroy earth, only mankind. We also know that the Covenant have received 99% of their technology and armor and such from the long gone Forerunners. now this is one-half of my take on the storyline (Part 1):
I and about forty-billion other people have noticed that the designs of the technology and complexes of the forerunners (the Silent Cartographer hevel has many examples) has a very simliar look to our heiroglyphics in Egypt. Now, in the 8 Minutes+ in-game demo that came oute in late 2003 (i think) that we are in New Mombasa, Africa; my main point being the the Covenant's focus is on Africa. I can also believe the other people's ideas about the pyramids pointing to something of the Forerunner's that held great value to them, (i.e. their homeworld, their halos, or something like that) but i can not believe it to be anything of the covenant(like their homeworld unless the covenant homeworld is where they found all of the Forerunner technology). One thing that puzzles me is that the famous Covenant quote, "Your (the humans') destruction is the will of our Gods(which i think may be the forerunners, the covenant may hold their ancient texts and such sacred), And we are their instrument." would mean that they just want to erase the planet of us, the humans, now why would they even want to keep earth if their sole purpose is to destroy us. I don'tthink this is true. Now I've read all three books and i tend to believe that the rest of the covenant blindly follow the Prophets. I think that one or more of the prophets is greedy or just hateful and wants to kill all humans but there is something that they absolutely need on Earth(back to the pyramids and heiroglyphics).
Now, to the second half of my idea:
As i said i believe that the Prophets are followed without question, and i also think that the Flood were not that easily defeated (by this meaning that there are more flood somewhere or like the other people said that Sgt Johnson has "Dead DNA" of the flood in him and may be a "Trojan Horse"(refer to Eagle 117's articles in the official thread)) and i have a good feeling that we will see them again, bigger and badder than ever. Here is where my Belief on the soryline branches off, so ill separate it for you(that's why i did this in halfs, like part 1 and part a or part 1 and part b).
Part A:
I believe that (again with the prophets leading and just telling their army to kill us) the prophets will be very very scared when the Flood come back and after much deliberation will actually make efforts to team up with the humans in an effort to take out the flood and after much fight both the covenant and humans with dwindled numbers and having defeated the flood make peace with each other and that is that(ending with and explosion when defeating the flood, of course, killing or not killing MC is up to the big boys in bungie). I have been slapped and protested against for even thinking that we can team up with the covies but i still believe that it's possible. But, half of the suspense of the game will be not knowing whether we will turn on each other (i.e. The Cold War). OK, on to Part B.
Part B:
My other belief is that the covenant upon coming to egypt, actually make it to the pyramids or some relic of some sort, or (being the idiots that they are) stumbling and unlocking the flood again, now eventually we will find out where the covenant homeworld is and either lead the flood there to try to kill the covies at home or the big bang version:
MC somehow leads the flood to the covies' home and erases both enemies at the same time by somehow defeating the covenant world and blasting it into oblivion thus saving earth from both of her adversaries, the flood and covies, and in the meanwhile we do not know whether MC makes it out alive or not from the explosion (If Bungie decides to make another halo series game on the nextbox or something that is not a prequel then he lived, and if they dont, then we'll never know). Also No matter what i believe that the other spartans will show up in some way shape or form( And if a spartan gets infected by the flood, think of the possibilites, enhanced strength and smarts for the flood, AHHHHHHHHHH!)
Man that took a while to write, and if u haven't fallen asleep by now please vote in the poll and reply with your variations of my story or other similar ideas, but keep totally different ones to the official speculation thread.
When u see the red "*" then i have exactly 4919 characters left *.
