I have been playing with some skulls active for the last 2 weeks or so (catch, sputnik, IWHBYD, envy, GBP and famine) and just for grins picked up mythic today to add to the fun. I restarted the campaign and found I completely forgot just how hard this game can be! Adding mythic and famine together is just a recipe for doom. It took me 5 tries to finally finish the 2nd hanger on Cairo Station. I could not keep enough PP going, they all had 30 or so left in them and that does not last long taking out tougher elites with the BR/PP combo. This is what Halo was meant to be!!!

You didn't say what difficulty and was it SP or coop? I've played with similar skulls but I always played with Blind. On Easy that trip through the hanger is fun, on Legendary I cannot do it.

Try Outskirts with EVERY skull on. I could only get to the Hunters, and then it was just too much. ( On Legendary, too.)

I didn't skip through via rooftops though.. if I did I'm sure I could have gotten much further.

To activate all skulls and then skip would be lame, imo, so kudos to you for trying it legit. I tried for 6 months to beat any level legit SLASO and phailed.

I only play campaign, and it was Legendary.

The hangars are easy even on legendary once you get the hang of it, but with this combo, wow!

I have made my way through most of outskirts, with some changes to how I approach the play. I have not used any vehicles at all, the ones that are available past the sniper alley. I am going with normal weapons and doing alot of melee, grenades and hiding! With Mythic on, the PP/BR combo does not work as effectively because the elites can take more than one headshot after their shields are fryed. Staying exposed for the second headshot attempt leads to alot of Plasma Rifle fire coming my way, too much to live through most of the time. I have gone with PP overcharges up close and then melees to finish off isolated elites. I am using the beam rifle or sniper rifle to take out ghosts by nailing the fuel cell. Then it is a choice on how many elites I want to take out with the limited ammo I have left in those two. Fortunately the sniper rifle ammo back around the early part of the level never goes away!

Yeah, snoozy and I were discussing SLASO. Getting through the hanger with the skulls you indicated is made harder for me with the use of Blind (my thing) but I'm still not good enough too whup that area with ease on Legendary.

To show how lame I am, a fellow named Cody Miller did a continuous speedrun through the whole game on Legendary. Here's the catch, he never died once. His film is a little under 3 1/2 hrs long because he filmed it all from start to finish. Greatest vid I've ever seen but it made me feel puny.

I enjoy playing with the blind skull when it is one of the only ones I have, along with envy. With no motion tracker it is handy to be able to get invisible real quick when I run into someone I forgot was going to be there!

Overall, the blind skull is a great way to make the game more "realistic". I find myself playing in a more methodical creeping around way, rather than being able to glance at the MT and find my best initial path into or out of trouble.

Agreed, the only time I made it through the 2nd hanger was without Blind and I've never tried it since. With Blind it's strictly strafe and hope but I used too much ammo that way. Without Blind I could pull when I saw red.

Using Blind in H2 did make me a much better GoW player for no-scope blind head-shots.

Yeah, skipping would have totally defeated the purpose. I do use a modded Xbox for quick skull activation though.. just for times sake. The rest of SLASO I did perfectly legit, but without much luck. I've wasted a nice fraction of my life attempting it.

And I read about that Cody Miller guy in a Guiness Book of World Records when I was skimming through it. Never seen the video, but even the thought of pulling that off is just hard to imagine.

Beware, I haven't been able to pick up a controller seriously to play H2 since I watched. It's over 3 hours but just watch CS if you don't have time:
No Deaths
