"I wanted to make people happy, if only for an hour."
-Busby Berkley

RIP Halo 2

Ok, on the map AOTCR, I had a habit. I would do it when I was nearing the end of the level and you come out of the door that leads you onto the stone bridge that runs in front of the big building that has the control room in it. You see elites running to get in banshees, and if you're lucky, you can kill one and take the banshee. Now, as we all know, you cross the bridge and out from the other door come two hunters and a group of grunts. I would always kill the grunts, then mess with the hunters. I assume you all know how to play with them. They start charging at you and you sidestep right before they get to you and the lung forward a little bit. Well, I would lead them off of the bridge, so they fall to the ground. Then I jump down. Now I lead them into the little crevasse that has the ammo in it, I'm now under the stone bridge. After that I would get every vehicle available, ghosts and banshees, and drop them into the crevasse with the hunters. Then I would go down there, my friend would stay out of the crevasse, but watch. I would let them charge at me and shoot at me and I would dodge and vehicles would be flying and it could go on for a long time, but inevitably, they each get crushed eventually by a vehicle flipping through the air.

Good times, good times...

Did you guys do anything like this that was really pointless but you just got a lot enjoyment out of it?

Can't say that I have. Didn't think they would survive the fall, but then again, I've never tried. One thing I liked to do in that level though was to walk around the edges that circle each canyon and try to get back to where I started. Pointless. But a challenge nontheless.

I always do that with the Zealots. It's like my signature. Hehehe.

I managed to kill both those Elites before they got in the Banshees once. I think it was a glitch.

Heck yeah! It's also fun to shoot hunters in the neck or back and watch the stream of blood squirt like 10 feet.

No, I've done the same. It was very challenging, but if you have plasmas, you'll be fine. ; )

Getting both banshees is pretty easy on that bridge. I use active camo and then throw a few stickies over the rocks as I'm dashing to beat the elite to the closest banshee. The blast usually tips the second one over and you can play around with the both of them. I've found that hunters don't always die when they fall over the edge. Kinda random I think.

I just like using the Magnum and putting three or four bullets into a Hunter's head and killing them right away, so easy and funny.

I jumped on the zealot once. And stayed for a long time.

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

Grunt hunting. Leave one grunt alive then go walk around for a while. Then try to find him and melee him.

Ha ha ha, that would be pretty fun. As a matter of fact, I'm gonna go try that out tonight.

For some reason, I like getting the marines to turn on me.. They're just fun to fight lol

  • 03.26.2009 5:41 PM PDT

What, because they suddenly get more competent when they fight you?

Yes, definitely.

  • 03.27.2009 4:20 AM PDT

Haha, sure.

  • 03.27.2009 6:07 AM PDT

On a similar theme but with Halo 3 (Sorry), have you tried shooting the marines on the pelican that come to pick you up after you finish the dam mission? Make sure you use some cover as the pelican suddenly starts firing missiles at you.

I like using the Banshee on CE. I just float around, annoying the enemy.

RIP Halo 2

Another one of the things that I had to do for no reason was on AOTCR, like every habit I had. There's this big room that you go into, there's a bridge that you have to cross, and then another bridge, but it's broken. I'm not talking about when you go over the bridges that are out in the open, I'm talking about the big room that you enter and exit through the very large doors that you have to activate. Well, there was this grunt in a shade that I always punched off the map. The shade was close to the edge, and I would walk right up to the shade, and just punch it until it went off the edge and he would fall to his death. Completely unnecessary, but I did it every time. If you didn't know, walking right up to a shade and touching it, they won't shoot you. They stare at you, but they don't shoot. Leaving you the option to simply punch them off of cliffs.

Does anyone even read these?

Well I like to smack marines in the back all the time to hear that sweet crunching noise. Love it so much.

  • 04.03.2009 6:14 AM PDT

Throwing a plasma nade directly up in the air and trying to catch it on my head.

Of course you can do it in the other halo's, but it's much more interesting in this one as Chief doesn't throw like a sissy little chicken baby.
