I was talking to my freind while playing Halo about Halo 2 and he was saying that Halo 2 is gonna suck if bungie puts a bunch of stealth in it because he thinks its a " kill everything " game.. I on the other hand think that stealth would be fun but more of an option than having to stealth or die I mean it is pretty fun to sneak up and whack guys or ambush them but if stealth became such an important factor in Halo 2 you could goo through it without shooting a single round which wouldn't be fun at all

dude, the best part of halo (in my opinion) is sneaking up on an elite and meeleeing them in the back. and brutaly bashing a group sleeping grunts head in. But now, in halo 2, the stealth will 1000000 times better. You can shoot out lights, flip over obsticles (for cover) and the covies have flashlights to find you with. But knowing bungie, it will probably be an option (you can also run in and blow up those covie bastards).

ok one thing i dont get, and maybe im getting too into it, but how come the covies cant see us either becuase they wouldn't use the same light spectrum too see as we do, supposedly only the jackals can "smell us out"

I don't like using stealth. Sure I'll stick a grenade to an elites back if it presents itself, and I'll crack open a few heads but I hate feeling like I'm walking on egg shells.

I love halos stealth. You have to like wait till an elite turnes its back on your position. Then run out and Meelee. It makes Legendary a hell of a lot easier (and funner). Hopefully Halo 2 will be way funner.

yeah I wouldn't like Halo 2 if it became like a splinter cell cuz thats not what Halo is about but it is fun to ambush a group of grunts when they don't see it coming

Splinter Cell is one of my top 5 favorite set of games on Xbox. It would be awesome to be able to to use the sneaking skills for more than just one game. Although I would be frustrated if I had to crouch to sneak up on someone, that would blow in halo 2 since crouching is ultra g@y and hard to keep!!! Shooting lights off has been my dream in FPS since day one and when Perfect Dark implemented it rather well in their games I would love it if all games had it!

Stealth is awsome how they did it. It works fine it's not that cheap but still gives a good advantage for having it. It all depends on where they put it and how fast the respawn is. Right now on Blood Gulch it's perfect. Overshield I think needs to go but not stealth. Overshield is very bland and is in so many games.

Once again, it really depends on what manor of stealth you are talking about. In another topic a while back I stated, stealth wouldn't be a bad thing assuming the game doesn't revolve around it.

Everyone who has been registered to this web-site and has payed any attention to the topics in this forum are probably aware of the theory of the Spartans returning to join John in the fight against the Covenant. Assuming this is the case, yeah I would definately like to see one or two missions which prompt you to keep a low profile and stick to the shadows. There was a number of missions in Fall of Reach in which the Spartans were ment to stay low. For example, in Sigma Octanus IV at Cote d'Azur when the Spartan's objective was to arm the HAVOK. They were travelling through sewers, using opticle cables for getting visual conformation of enemy presence in rooms. They even had equipped suppressors on their MA5Bs. Why not have one or two tactical maps where a little more strategy, stealth and teamwork is required instead of firefights and chaotic combat.

On the other hand, if you are talking about stealth similar to Splinter Cell, I would say definately not. Don't get me wrong, I love Splinter Cell and everything about it. But Halo is Halo and Splinter Cell is Splinter Cell. The type of gameplay games like Splinter Cell contain wouldn't suit Halo, not in my opinion. Like I said above, a couple of missions based around espionage, gathering intel, or planting explosives would be cool, but definately not the majority of the game and you would also have to ensure the main Halo elements and componants remain intact.
