Just asking to see what the community thinks... I know some people think they're not very realistic, but they can be extremely fun - some of Metroid Prime's boss battles were absolutely awesome, especially the Omega Pirate and Meta Ridley. Anyways, I don't think bosses are unrealistic in Halo. For example, you could have a Flood that is the result of many combat forms melding together to form a super badass mofo that can eat you whole, or maybe an experimental Covenant hovercraft with a crucial weak spot... I dunno, but most other games pull off the climactic boss battles quite well.

Having a boss in Halo would ruin the sense of war and it would screw Halo up into something not-Halo. We don't need bosses.

I wouldn't mind a boss, but i wouldn't like it to be too bossy, i mean not have a huge grand opening for him or have dramatic music or whatever. Just a really tough enemy at the end.

Thats what made Halo 1 so fun, you dont have to waste your time on bosses. You just go right through the game and only waste your time on hard parts where you are swamped by a bunch of enemies.

I didn't really mean traditional bosses like in Prime, that was just an example.

It would be awesome, in my opinion, to be slicing through the Flood onslaught, when all of a sudden you see a lumbering monster with tentacles flailing approaching in the distance and thinking "Ohhhhh s***."

There should never be bosses in first person shooters...

a boss at the end would not be bad. u know like the last prophet. but we are fighting the covenant not just key individuals.

I say if Halo 2 did have A boss, it shouldn't be all showy and have big horns and shoots fire out of it's mouth, I'm say it should be like the best Elite in the whole Covenant army.

I dont really like big bosses in games ...
In my opinion it's what ruined Half-Life!

Like if you kill a boss the size New York city what the -Blam!- is stoping you from "blowing up the whole God Damned World"!

Halo rocked cause you werent the best soldier in the universe you were just an high tech soldier fighting a equally strong foe!

With all due respect, Halo 2 is not a Metroid game. They play completely different....and really shouldn't be considered as comparable.

When you think of it gold elites could be concidered like small bosses.

And if they but a boss but in a cinématic I think it would be better than to fight a really big grunts with 999999 lifepoints or just fun.
But I would prefer no boss in the game.

No, any enemy with a larger portion of health then any other, and attacks you repeatedly in the same way, would not add to the fun that is Halo. And I would have clicked "No!" but I didn't want to call you a retard.

Gold elites are badasses but they arent really bosses. take an overcharged plasma pistol and your human pistol and you can put them down in 3 shots even on legendary.

Not bosses, but perhaps an extra big battle in the end of each level, in which you have no need to save ammo, just blowing armies of covenant up in all directions.

bosses aren't fun... they are hard until you work out how to kill them and from then on they annoy you...

I like the idea of just getting swamped with bad guys and trying to fight your way out... maybe they could make it into a Mplayer game type bad dudes just flooding in to destroy you and you just have to keep killing them the more you kill the more turn up... aim is to last the longest with points for quicker and more accurate kills

Well how about this...an Elite with the same augmentations as John and a better Mjolinr suit of armor...that'd kick some ass

No, for two reasons:

1 - no bosses sets it apart from other FPSes
2 - nothing can beat Halo's last level

No there shouldn't be any unique cheap invincible except for a weakspot boss. Unless I get a chance to blast the #*$&%^ 353 Guilty Spark $#@^%!#. He gets on my nerves a little.

yeah I'd also like to be able to kick the monitor's ass :-) would be satisfying :-)
Bungie shouldn't include bosses IMO. (aren't hunters and golden elites bosses in a way?)
I just hope the're 'll be a kick-ass ending section like the warthog race against time... But i'm sure Bungie made sure / are making sure that we'll be stunned by the ending section in Halo 2... I'll be so sad after I'll have completed Halo 2...but I'll re-play it right away anyways :-)
