I was wondering should i keep my refesh rates high or low. And if i do set it high will i lose performance power in halo. And if i put it low around 60 will i gain performance in halo?
I set the settings at 30fps per second LOL even though i dont get it.

Thanks for any reply's
And my Comp specs are in my sig.

~75, 75-85 is good for a refresh rate.

it depends on your monitor though. in fact that's all it depends on. if your running a 5 year old monitor, your not gonna get above 60 hz, but it it's newer, 85hz is usualy a good place to stay.

The lower the refresh rate, the harder on your eyes it becomes. If you have a low refresh rate, you will start to see flicker and lines going down the screen.

I can vouch for that. I have a first generation LCD monitor, runs 55Hz. Terrible, and I can see wavy lines all the time if I don't look in the middle of the screen. Funny thing is, my 6-year old CRT, the beast [24 inches, weighs 35 pounds], gets up to 85Hz.

Hertz is one thing to look for when buying monitors. The other thing is dot pitch and max resolution. Nowadays, ideal is 1600x1200, 75-85Hz, dot pitch of less than .25mm.

I currently don't think LCD screens are better than CRT monitors. Unless you need a flat screen, CRT are cheaper and better for gaming. I am sure there will be a time, though, when LCD will be much better than CRT.

CRT are too heavy. Even though, they are way better for gaming, LCD's give better visual qualities. However, the CRT pwns the LCD at games, and refresh rates.High Refresh is when your monitor doesn't flicker instead, it plays the frames with no flickering and lines

Considering my space, though, LCD was the only option :(
