In the beginning of Keyes, theres the drop out of the ship, well if you place a plasma grenade on the right side of the outside of the door and run and jump you can reach the little ledge on the other side, or sometimes go even farther, but you basically end up in the same place. Skipping the video of him falling and placing you in the minor battle between a few covies and flood. I've searched the whole area, and on the other side theres a door with white lights, but it doesn't open, there are some ledges you can get on but nothing that I've seen to get to the second floor or anything. I was wondering if this is just a pointless thing, or if there may be a way to skip lots of painful areas of the level and get right near where keyes is. If ANYONE has ANY info or anything to add to this, PLEASE do NOT hesitate to POST!!
Any links to help guides, forums, threads, whatever, any info is greatly appreciated.

As far as I know, that part of the level is just for show.

Yea, I know, but there almost HAS to be a way to skip the level by doing something there.

Somebodey said they could use a plasma granade launch themselves acros the hole, but there is an invisable berier in the middle;but they could stick a plasma nade to and blow themselves to the other side. It is very hard to do this and you might not even survive the granedes, but if you do make it, it might be worth it.

That sounds lazy. Just beat the level again. The game isn't based on skipping parts, its based on WHOOPIN' ASS!!

If it is possible then it would be ultimately handy for HBOs going nowhere fast competition.

Kill, I'm not trying to be lazy, I'm trying to find shortcuts through levels, like Jamez mentioned, they have contests for -blam!- like that, I'm not trying to compete with anyone but I already got the AotCR and 343 speed tricks, I just wanna know more, and well -blam!-, this seems like the perfect place for one.

The most likely place to find out would be the tips and tricks section of HBO if somebody can do this, also if it is possible it will probably be in the winning entry for Keyes in the competition I mentoned.

Actually, I have noticed something pretty cool awhile back on that mission, when you first start keyes, move past the first locked door on your right and then look through the grates, it the control room, with keye's flood blob there, if someone could get past on of the doors, they could beat the level in about 3 minutes.

Yeah I've done that before over the hole and it's pretty simple after a few tries. Just throw a plasma grenade on the floor just before the hole begins, and run at it. Hopefully if you get their in time the grenade will blow you over the hole.

But's there not much on that side. It's just a bunch of locked doors and some Flood and Covenant.

Yes but on the other side, where the "unlocked but unopenable" door is, there is a ledge, which if you could get on, you could launch yourself up to the second level with a plasma nade, but to get to the ledge you need to be on, you acutally need a nade, which in turn makes it so you don't have enough health. If anyone could figure this out somehow, there just might be a way to skip something.

Ya know that ledge with the health on it? You can't go on it. Trust me I've tried thousands of times with my friend. There's an invisible wall blocking you from getting on the ledge.

Um, thats not what I'm talking about, I know that. The other end of the hangar bay completely theres a white door, the ledge to the left of that.

maybe you can get the gun turret down with a nade if there is one and move it next to the door and try to go threw it

it sounds like you just want to skip all of the flood and covies, we know you might be scared but sometimes you got to face your feares and just jump down there

made it up there (with red health lol) all doors are locked, the one you are in later is different one (just like the cyro bay in poa - you see the elites in a different one.) i dont have anyway of showing you how, but all i can say is: get accross the gap with FULL HEALTH. impossible otherwise (or very difficult, at the least)

Maybe there is something on the third floor, or whatever. Do you think it would be better in co-op where you can kill the person so they have full health again?

I have gotten to the third floor, on co-op. Very difficult. A friend and I grenade jumped off each others' head to get to the second level. Then he stood on the head of an armless Flood and I stood on his head and grenaded up to the third level. That was the hardest part because if I missed the jump the Flood would be dead and we'd have to start all over again. There is nothing there except locked doors. You gain nothing except a sense of accomplishment.
