My friend and I have gotten ourselves into a bit of an argument about the ages of people that liked the Arbiter and the Elites between the ages of 12-16 when they first played as him.

So I have decided to ask this question to see who was right... perhaps you could prove one of us wrong to end the argument...

Details on argument:
My friend claims that kids hated the Arbiter and all elites because of their love of the Master Chief and him no longer being the only character/hero...

I claim that they liked the Elites and the Arbiter because of their "dinosaur" resemblance and that some people, frankly just liked something new.

We couldn't ever get a clear depiction on the statistics of players back then, so I have decided to make one now in order to put aside this argument.

EDIT: I will not vote just because it will further help out if neither of us voted against/for our individual arguments.

Also, please keep in mind... this isn't about skill or anything of the sorts... I know Elites aren't some players' favorites but this poll isn't about the lack of skill it meant to be an Elite for some people... just if you liked them overall...

Of course, even if enough of you voted for either choice... There are still slight problems... anyone could have lied about their age... or is simply voting for their friend or w.e... So I have also tried asking a few employees on the subject... Hopefully you guys can still post and vote as well...

I didn't like him. But that's only because he brought to places I didn't, and he felt much different to play with. I enjoyed the MC levels much more.

Thank you for your reasoning, some people did not like him due to the small changes and that's quite acceptable. IMO playing on Master Chief's levels were always my favorite as well, but it was fun to play as the Arbiter from time to time.

Thanks.

I didn't know who he was back then, I mostly did the customs. But I did know who he was and I kind of liked him. I thought he was awesome and just really great.

I thought he was alright. I liked to see the story through Covie eyes. I didn't really like his missions though.

Eventually I learned and read more about the story and grew to appreciate him and his storyine. And his missions are kickass.

Can you believe it?

I liked him. He made the story much more interesting. It was fun using the energy sword and active camo for the first time. It's nice to play as someone different. I really enjoyed his missions. I don't understand why age has anything to do with why people liked the arbiter or not.

It doesn't really matter at all, but me and my friend were constantly trying to prove the other one false, so I just had to make this to end the argument.

I believe he has some sort of dislike towards kids for some odd unexplainable reason.

Thanks for your reasoning.

In all honesty i didnt enjoy the levels the arbiter had until the ending ones that took place on high charity and the great journey. But can say that the story that was told through his side was much more interesting then the master chiefs

Thank you for your reasoning, I too feel the same way, and not to pull anyone's leg or anything, but the Heretic boss battle was my favorite boss battle.

I'm a dude playing a dude desguised as another dude. I hate heritics, non-logical thoughts and people who are better than I am. People tell me that they like a lot of games, but I hate them all. Whenever I play a video game, I always go crawling back to Halo 3. Never go full retard!

l've got to dissagree with you. l think the kids loved the Arbiter and the older people hated him.

No legs were pulled in that statement.

I think the real reason people didn't like the Arbiter much is because of his Flood levels, and no one likes those. The few without Flood were easily my favorites.

l liked the Arbiter levels. The ones on the "Gas Giant" were fun and "Quarantine Zone" was one of my favorites.

Well you wouldn't be disagreeing with me, you would be disagreeing with my friend who thinks kids disliked the Arbiter, I think most if not all kids at the time, liked the Arbiter.

I liked Master Chief's levels better, mostly because of the Marines backing you up. But in some cases I preferred being Arbiter because he had the ability to use camo and the sword was always a blast.

All men die. Only some men choose to live.

I had no idea who he was, my TV didn't like playing games with loud volume, so I never got the story. I had to play it again with my new TV. I still felt more epic with the Chief though.

I was 12 when I first played as the Arbiter, that was launch date, I liked him, but I did not enjoy his levels as much as the MC's.

  • 03.29.2009 4:46 PM PDT

I enjoyed MC's game play much better...

but as a character arbiter was far more awsome than even the cheif.... I still stand by that

elites = bad for gameplay but good characters

mastercheif= bad character but great gameplay

I didn't like him at all and I was quite a bit older than that age range.

Yes I liked him. Considering there were quite a few levels with him and the flood (I enjoy fighting the flood), and They were well played and you actually had some backup that survive a bullet round. So yes I didn't realy see anything wrong with the Arbiter, I enjoyed playing him and the missions that he was in. So again, yes I liked the Arbiter.

I always liked the elites because of their super kool rmor, but i hated their weapons in halo ce. i didnt like the arbiter as much b/c his rmor isnt as good as other elites rmor (the honor guards and counsel members w/ the headgear r the best looking ones imo)

I love the entire Halo series, Halo 2 being my favorite of the games. I think that the universe is compelling and the story is deep, sweeping, and powerful. The hidden layers in the Halo trilogy and rich details of the backstory in the novels are something I love to be lost in, and im greatly looking forward to the story that Halo: Reach will weave. Bungie has carefully and lovingly crafted a mythic tale that will stay etched in my mind until the end.

i loved the introduction of the Arbiter. Gave the story more depth and perspective. I loved all of Halo 2's story actually.
