I don't know what you mean when you say, "take" ammo.

Really stupid question ( probably ) but what does j/k mean/stand for?

( This is probably really Obvious !!! )

j/k means joking, and you auto pick up ammo. both SMG,s will draw from your one SMG ammo stash.

i think he means get ammo from the SMG laying on the ground for your SMG

I think you will still automatically take ammunition BUT once the SMG on the floor runs out of ammo it still remains on the floor so that you can pick it up for dual wielding.

Thats just an idea and seems the most likely situation.

You holster one weapon, reload it, then holster the other, reload it... and about my previous post, I didn't notice the j/k...

Let me word this differently. I am holding 1(one) SMG(Sub Machine Gun). 2 scenerios pass through my mind:
1- I want to get another SMG and Dual Wield them together
2- I want to pick up more amunition for the SMG i already have

For 1, what was explained was that you stand over it and press "Y" to Dual Wield. So i would just do that.
For 2, if when i stand over the ammunition-having SMG on the ground, and i just want to grab the ammo and not the gun, do i just run over it? But wouldn't the Press "Y" to dual wield Press"X" to trade weapons text appear?
I hope that is a little bit clearer

No you dont, MC literally flings the ammo clip off the side of his SMG and lowers his gun to slide it across another clip on his belt. Don't say I'm wrong because I've seen it in some shakycam footage of E3.

You would automatically pick up the ammo just like with any other weapon.

They were telling ME.

I think maybe like Tomb Raider, she has a double sided belt thing that hangs down with clips attatched, and she just "pushes" her guns into those.

Someone try to explain more, I'm *yawns*tired.*yawns*

yes on number 1 and 2 darknecross, the button X and Y will appear but them ammo will be auto picked up from the weapon on the ground..but you cannot take what is in the weapons clip.

This is what I think would happen: if you already have a submachine gun, but there's another submachine gun on the ground, when you run over it, you'll take the ammo, but the gun will be left on the ground with the option of pressing Y to duel weild it. This is just what I think would happen, and may not necessarily be what Bungie intends to do. Still, it's nice to think of the possibilities from time to time. =)

If youre holding a single SMG and walk over another, the X button will not appear. That only happens with energy core fed weapons (pp and pr)

But the question is, would the newly acquired gun be empty, or fully loaded, I believe it should be empty, but then what if you needed to use it quick, and didn't have time to reload, hopefully they will give you an option of dual wield or acquire ammo.

So in Halo 2 like in Multiplayer you are going to find Ammo Clips on the grounds instead of the guns? Because in HALO, you can run over a shotgun, say in bloodgultch, and you get Shotgun Ammo. So in HALO 2, marines will drop their weapons and stuff, along with ammo clips, so you can dual wield their dropped weapon and pick up their ammo?
I just can't see that

I like Lovell's idea, about when you run over it, you get the ammo, and then it is empty and still on the ground to be dual wielded
