You've got to think crazy, of course, because you only get innovation by refining insanity. - Jason Jones

Dont knock this thread, think about it, knowone knows what the forruner look like, and there could be different looking forruner, you just never know. plus this thread kind of describes the disliking of each other between the brute and elites, and the killing of the pilots who flew those missions at the end of first strike which was ordered by the prophet.

Ok i was reading a lenghty post and this guy was talking about how the prophets were like the high comand and the other covenat forces obey them, well, i have a new theory i dont think i have seen yet. Get this:

What if, the prophets, brutes and engineers are members of the forruners. If this sounds stupid to you its prolly because knowone has ever thought about it beofre. But bear with me for a minute.

The engineers: Highly intelligent, take things apart and put them together quitcker than you can shake a stick at, quiet and mind there own business, kind of like a traitor who would take things apart learn things about other colonies, species and there tools and how they live only to turn the info they get over to the prophets.

The prophets: Rulers, high authority, when they speak everyone listens, they seem to be hellbent on finding the forruner and nothing will stop them. All of the covenat obey them, and there are not many, so maybe the few prophets we know about are the last of a dying breed. And what would a quiet engineer and a high ranking official be without there body guards.

The brutes: Dumb, obeying strong fo. Will do and does whatever the prophet tells them to do.

Finaly Analysis: this all kind of ads up, think about this. The three forruner being the prophet, brute and engineer all hold important roles in the covenat heirarchy and are pretty much vital to there rule-being the prophet, protection-being the brute and information gathering=being the engineers. Now how does all this tie together, here we go: The forruner created the flood in order to destroy all sentient life so they could rule space. Darn there plan backfires and they build ring worlds in order to contain the flood, meanwhile all the forruner are sperated while they flee from the flood. A few somehow link up with some alien species and create what we know as the covenat, and they quickly take the roles of the highest ranking officials, and of course knowone will challenge them because they created the legion. So the forruners, (prphet, brute and engineer) use there new conglomerate of alien followers as pawns in a game of hide and seek, lending the as we know not so intelligent lower ranking covenat species technology to help the along, meaning, they are using the covenat forces to find seek and destroy humans and the flood and reunite with there fellow forruner friends whom they hope are on other ring worlds or worlds for that matter and once they link up with fellow forruner friends they will kill off all the covenat forces they used to get themselves back together. And something i just realized while typing the last few sentinces is that if im right, then the forruner are using the covenat as a carrier form sort of like the forruners created the flood and they to are parasites and use carrier forms. This also could explain the unmentions new species which could be other kinds of looking forruner.

Why did you pick the brute and not the elite? Prophets, Engineers and Elites started the covenant after all. Brutes were just captured.

captured or discovered, i picked them because in first strike mainly the prophet seems to take more kindly to the brute, and any time the elites get into trouble the brutes are grinning and seem pleasured by it.

Well the brutes and elites hate each other and think they are better than each other. This ravlry is caused because they are equal in caste. Thus causing the grin.

BTW The prophets are guarded by High commanding Elites not Brutes so I guess the prophets value elites more. Elites also are the main military aliens. Engineers are the technology leaders and Prophets are the religion and rulers.

I refuse to read something with so many typos. Call this "Spam" if you want, but sometimes you just don't feel like deciphering all the BS people write. Especially if it is a long post.

It was stated in Halo: The Flood that the Prophets evolved on the planet(s?) that the Forrunner, or some of the Forrunner lived on (I think so anyway). It didn't mention anything about any other species of Covenant....

Also, if Brutes were originally part of the Forrunner, then that means that the Elites must have been assimilated into the Covenant, so Brutes would be higher in the social caste. However, it is a fact that Elites and Brute hate the -blam!- out of each other, and are endlessly fighting over which one should be higher up in the social structure. So if Brutes were originally part of the Forrunner, then the Prophets would obviously decide at once that they are higher than the Elites.

But it's still not a bad theory...

First of all, since when did this become and english class, and secondly, i really think this theory works out, it seems sketchy now, but somehow it all fits together, or at least in my head it does.

Your head, not mine
It has been a while since i read them, but in the books, it says that the Prophets say they are descendants of the forerunners and i remember reading somewhere that the brutes are the holy bodyguards of the prophets
If the engineers were really the forerunner, then why would the covenant treat them like dirt?
I have more to say but i cant think straight right now

Nope, Only highest ranking Elites are allowed to guard the prophets. Although Brutes guard the forerunner facilities.

but the covenant depend on the technology that this is found they dont come up with there own so someone else would have had to have been there to create it instead of them

in response to the covenat finding the technology, the didn't find it, maybe i didn't explain it clear enough, the covenat (all the alien species) have been leant or given the technology by the forruners whom i think are the prophets engineers and brutes to reunite with there fellow forruner friends. The jackals, elites, grunts, and hunters are all just pawns in the game. And i think once the forruner have what they want then they will destroy the other memebers of the covenat to do away with any competition.
