I think radar is evil. Its not as bad as screen-looking, but it does make stealth impossible. Finding and tracking your enemy is half the fun. What is everyone's opinion?

Mommy says I ride the short bus because I'm special...

Radar sucks!!!

My friends and I never use it.

Actually, some argue that the radar adds more stealth as you cannot be seen on it while moving at a slow speed.

But it's a matter of preference, really.

Hmm. I tried this, and I could never move without being detected by radar. I pushed the stick forward as little as possible, and I always show up. The only method of not being seen is not moving, and I am anti-camping. I did manage a good shotgun to the head from not moving once, but that was completely by accident.

I dislike using the radar, especially for CTF as it makes it very easy for the enemy to camp in their base watching the radar as a means of defense, that isn't fun as the second you go in the base they know where you are even if they hide in a place where they can't see anything.

...especially for CTF...

Yeah, I know what you mean. Its good to keep your base on lockdown, but that tactic is insane, and all-in-all uber cheap and extremely aggitating. I think that if they would have added a chaff grenade, that would have been a great idea. You may have a counter-arguement that it wouldn't be worth it, because people would notice no dots and just wait until they reappeared. But have it still show all others EXCEPT the thrower of the grenade. You could easily substitute a Radar jammer power-up instead of chaff grenades. IMO, this would make the strategy involving radars a lot deeper.

Good thinking, untill the day they have one though I'll just have to hope for servers that don't use radar or play with my friends.

Call it what you want, but it sucks. It looks like a Radar, and traditionally that is a Radar. Sorry if I don't use the preferred Halo terminology. May the Halo gods forgive my sin. But really, the jamming idea would be gold in MP.

Motion tracker (Radar or whatever) sucks. The only time you can sneak up on an enemy without been detected is when they are stood still. They run in the opposite direction a little and you're screwed stealth wise. Standing still (or 'camping') is something me and all my friends avoid so its main use is contridicted.

CTF, don't get me started on that. Stand stil in your base, watch for a blip on the screen, kill. Its killing my numbers!

The last time me and my 7 friends played a Slayer with Motion Tracker it really sucked. Right after the game, everyone just said stuff like "That sucked" and "Who's idea was it to put on Motion Tracker?" (thing to that effect).

"It was like someone had walked in on Christmas Day and p*ssed all over their kids" (Peter Kay),
