Halo 3 was [sold / tricked ] in to [ a dumbed down gaming community / gamers who care about gameplay ], respectively.
Ask anyone who played back in the day, especially those who played in MLG Gametypes, FFA's, Hardocore Playlists, etc. (these people are the only ones who have the right, in my opinion, to say which game is better because they actually have skill in the Halo Franchise) would be the ones who agree with the topic of this thread.
If people played games they like, Halo 2 would have a bigger community today. But because of the mass-media, gaming hype, gaming industry, and gaming developers who would like a nicer car in the drive way over a better product, this is why we are in to this mess.
I stopped buying games at release because of Halo 3. I learned a lot from it. I go for games with Gameplay, not Hype.
Thank you for reading, c ya on H2.
