And Yes MG42, I do have to admit that your suggestion was heeded about the watchmen. I had intended to use Gridolee's flashback/betrayal, but I hadn't thought of how that would clear up so loose ends with the the Watchmen. So I quickly adjusted it slighty to show some form of connection with the Watchmen and the Prophets.
I am honored that my humble opinion has been taken into account, soulguard.
The gravemind question has finally arrived... but I think I shall spark some theories and see what you guys think. I'm curious to know if anyone has pieced any of this puzzle together. The connection between the Seed, the reclaimers, the Mirratord, and the Gravemind "like" creature. So I'll ask you all, what is the Gravemind? Is it really a flood leader, or is it more of a flood form... or something more? heehee
Ooh... the evil laugh is back... well, let me think.... I don't understand much of the Mirratord, but that's mainly because I'm confused about the possible connection between Scorp's Mirratord and your Mirratord. And though I am sure you were first, they aren't trained by the Sharquoi in your story, are they Soulguard?
The Reclaimers are the Spartans... because that Forerunner chap in the Seed Installation was a Forerunnerish holographic appearance. The Seed is one of the... seed, sprouted from the Ark, or so I understand from the story. And the Gravemindish creature would... be... umm... someone who wants knowledge. Knowledge to feed, or so he said. And something tells me he won't be hauling his dead fat-ass body to the nearest McDonalds... especially since that would be a multi-billion kilometer trip.
To feed... to feed... feed on Humans? Feed on Flood? Use the Flood to feed? Do we have to return it all to the Prophets? What is their role? They started the war to distract the Sangheili, and they want them eliminated, that's for sure.
But then they'd have to get their little hands on a Seed Installation or the Ark. And friggin' ONI knows of the Seed Installations, but would they know of the Ark as well? I wonder....
So, to make a long story short: I still don't get it... yet. I'll think about it... I mean that.
