well i have an idea for the forerunner thing. it siad that Species 001 002 003, and the prophets, were the only real "forerunners". That every one else was just slaves and part of the empire. the prophets were the lawyers as Rose put it perfectly and 003 are the "honor gaurds" of the forerunner leaders, which were 001 and 002. So that means the hologram didnt lie but just left out a bit of information. Just my 2 cents.

That being siad great stage i cant wait for the next one.

This one made me wonder if the elites will go with Erics plan.

Brilliant it was. The questions are building up on each other, but when will they collapse? When will we receive our aswers?

Once again, a marvelous piece of work, Soulguard! Keep this up!

I agree with scorptank. Though alot of the writers here are fantastic (scorp and Clark included), I can't help but to be drawn to your fic the most, soul. It's dramatic, riveting, and emotional, all the things needed for a great story. The only problem: it ends soon. I wonder if we might see another piece of fine writting from you after this story is over with. I would certainly be one of the first to read if there were. Can't wait for the next chapter. Take your time though; make it great.

Prowlaz: Thanks bud, Halsey and Rose will play the largest role in stage 22 as they talk about ... stuff, but stage 21 will mostly be focused on The Black Ops, Kelly and Palab.

Halo Xenon: Gravemind'ish creature getting aboard before lift off??? That would be horrible... but when all else fails... run away!! Thanks for the support.

Scoprtank: ... I'm beyond words. thanks bud. I still say that your describing yourself, in my humble opinion... you're the besr (for god sake, you're Dutch and writing in English... If I could read/understand Dutch and read your work in your "Original Language" I'd assume you were a pro.. uhh I hope you understood that.. it was compliment.) My biggest concern is that some of you may think this is too far fetched for the Halo Universe, and then stop reading before the "simple" truth is revealed. But I'm sured you're slowly starting to put the pieces together... if you think about it, it's simple.. however... complex.

Highland Brute: Sorry man, I wasn't able to get PM's out last night... I was kidnapped. lol. PM's will be sent for the next stage. Again, my apologies.

bingbat: ... *cough* hmmm... a nice 2cents indeed.

Guilty Mark VII: Depending on the Results of Stage 21... probably stage 22 is when things will .... collapse. haha

Midship: Thanks. Again, I'm moved.

Everyone: There will be slight delay in stage 21. My B-day is friday.. ugh.. so I will be.. uhh... unavailable for the majority of the day. I will work on Stage 21 this week, and mostly post it around monday or Tuesday of next week (Oct 3-4). Again, thanks for all the great feedback so far guys and gals. I really take your words and suggestions to heart, as you will probably see things that I miss in the plot. Keep posting the good and the bad... it can only make me better. More info soon...

Yup, unfortunately to Scorp, I gotta agree, Soul does have something in his stories that make them so special. It's best. Mr_C, Scorp and Silky are very best here in B.net but you Soulguard are still above them.

note: It seems to me that Rose Santos has disappeared somewhere.

As grunts say "Where did it go?"

-[Edit]-
Ohmigosh you have birthday! :) congrats SG.
I didn't see your post before mine was out. Well then, i will wait and see what does Rose tell us.

Oh dear, this might just turn into one of those "You go first."
"No, you go first."
"No, no, no, I insist."
"You go first you piece of Maasdammer!"

But in the end we are reviewing the stories, not the writer. And for that matter I might have been a monk from Tibet, your story would still be better.

And yes, 'we' - that is, me... well, I'm finally putting the puzzle together, and it took me long enough. But the plot appears simpler to the writer, than it does to the reader. It always does, that's a basic rule in writing, you, as the writer, understand it all, whereas the reader thinks 'WTF?' But umm... congratulations in advance....

Birthday punches!

Right... wouldn't that be rude? Of course it could be another one of those 'All American Jokes' that go far beyond my comprehension. But then... I am European, and a Dutchie at that, and you're all laughing at me... *sniff* I feel out of place. LOL.

haha, back and forth indeed. Thanks for the early b-day wishes and the punches. A birthday punch is an old prank that the birthday boy/girl is punched a number of times according to their age. Mostly a high school/middle school type thing, but it sometimes carries on into post college, depending on the person and friends.

Prowlaz is mostly correct about fireing at the gravemind creature however:
“Captain, what options have you used to try and stop it?”

“You won’t believe this, but the closer we get the more fire comes our way. The flood have taken over the city defense turrets. All of the elite ships are holding back as well. But I still have one plan left… if you’re up for it.”

Big guns tend to make ships stay back. Hope that helps.

That sounds just plain weird. The birthday stuff, I mean. But then... there's a certain girl I wouldn't mind spanking on her birtday... if only I had the nerve to say 'hi, how ya doin'....

“Morning 19. You sleep well?” Sammy laughed. Eric grinned and slowly extended his middle finger. The Black Ops all laughed. Melanie stood and walked back to his side. She sat next to Eric, and her elbow bumped against him. Eric didn’t respond so she slowly pulled it away.

“Debrief me.” Eric whispered.

“We’d need a bed and a little privacy for that.” Melanie smiled. Eric glared at her in a serious tone; she got the hint. “Sorry.…”

LOL! I too think this sounds familure(sp?) but can't recall from where....

P.S. Happy B-Day soul! (I'll have to find a stripper in his area and send her to his place)

Happy Birthday, and a hearty Wootah!! Your writing continues its excellence. I must say that stage 19 was moving. You beautifully portrayed a truly painful moment with the slaughter of the watchmen and the death of Timnaldee's son. These are nice touches in the larger picture of the whole story, and they work very well with your writing. I'm rooting for the elites and a strengthened alliance between them and the humans, but it looks like things can get hairy with the NOVA involvement. . .should be an interesting next stage!

The "Debfriefed" comment has recieved a lot of comments. LOL... it was a fun quick scene, but unfortunatly i couldn't run with it.

Thanks for the B-day wishes. And I agree... things do seem to be getting rather hairy with the NOVA and all. I'm actually curious as to how it will be played out. The elites still don't know that the Sacred Hall is a ship, only the High Council is aware. So whatever happens it will be messy.... I wonder what will happen? :-D

See? That's how I'm different from most of you here... I get along with girls well, and I dont fall all over myself doing it... I mean... I can almost make a girl blush on freaking command..... I feel.... just about the way I felt 10 minutes ago; when the shotgun I had shot tank shells....... That's the kind of power I feel I have sometimes.... it's awesome!

I just wish she wouldn't have -blam!- ignored me like a -blam!- -blam!-....

I'm still upset....... :(

But I'm to cool to be this flustered.... right?.... :I anyway....

What the hell were you doing in team training today, Highland?

Well... Prowlaz - yes, I edited out all the spelling errors - I don't think you have quite caught on with how you play the game when communicating over the Internet. First of all: you don't say you're cool. It sounds macho and dumb. Secondly: you don't say you are succesful with the girls. And certainly not that you can make them flush on command, even if that were true (which I highly doubt) you still don't say it. The game is to make fun of yourself, much like GM just did, or Scorp, SpecOps 007 and God knows who more does.

As for the Stage, Soulguard: simply brilliant. The addition of the Domadree-Gravemind was brilliant, just that. I have absolutely nothing to comment on, however, there are a lot of errors. Not spelling errors, but where you used different words than you wanted to. 'Loose' and 'lose' for example. Just mentioning it.

I can't think up anything really original to say, but I have to agree with a number of people that I am beginning to see where this is going. I will refrain from posting my thoughts/theories because I would just make a fool out of myself.

You are doing one hell of a job, soulguard. Keep it up.

I am the last to review... as usual. Well, I suppose I'd just tell you that this Stage was awesome beyond awesomeness, soulguard. I think this was the best Stage as of yet, and I am looking forward to the next, and the next, and the next, and the next, and the... wow... the end.
