Phoenix is dead, long live Phoenix!
Is it?

Just out of interest will you be using the kozoz ending where he stab's himself with the plasma sword, or the other one?

Sir_B: Nice find. I love Wikipedia. I sort of wish that the there was mention of a Grunt leader in the games... but that info matches the info I discovered (the reason I wrote the story) on "The Library" site. Some of there info is a little off, but it is still a good source for info.

Lai Tasha; Palab will not know of Kokoz's death... so neither.
If things work out correctly then Palab will only have vague memories of Kokoz. There will be a few changes to some scenes in my story that will stir up some memories, but it should all work out.

Update on SFFH!

As of this posting, "Stand, Five Feet High" has begun it's update process over on FF.net. The intro (Politics), and the first 2 chapter have been updated and posted. If you haven't read SFFH, then head over and check it out. If you have read it, then go check out the changes... there are many, and it will play big into the NEW conclusion to the story.

thanks... and enjoy.

Well your "Politics" chapter was a delight to read. But I'm thinking I'll wait until you have the whole of SFFH rewritten to read it again. Smooth from start to finish. :}

This apple is brown, and rotten. This orange on the other hand, is in relatively average shape. So the orange is definitely the preferable option.
----------You can't compare apples and oranges. You're so dumb.

Well, it has been awhile so I thought that I would give a brief update on the status of the the Triology.

Trilogy UDPATESo far, SFFH is pushing along with only three chapters left before the end. The PDF file will be available on my website for your enjoyment. AFter that I will begin work on IIWYH, and create it's PDF. In total the two stories will flow together fluidly, all character names/ranks/locations will be fixed and it will be a flawless flow of two stories.

As for the Trilogy title.... I'm still not sure. "If I Were Your Hero" captures the essence of the two plots, but they don't give a true feel to where I would like the story to go. Book 3 will be more of a ... gripping finaly. The side story is, after all, more about the History of the Forerunners and what they left behind, but at the same time it is about the characters learning to deal with themselves and their flaws/abilities.

A few ideas I have had for the trilogy title are:
"Legacy of the Forerunners" {which is already used by another FanFic story}
"Consequences"
"Forgotten Relics" {My personal favorite}
"Fall of the Covenant" {I like it, but... it's too Cliched}
"Expanse"
"Union"
"The Reclaimers" {Likeable, but still, too cliched}
"Return of the King" {haha, go Palab Go!}
"The Covenant Civil War" {My second Favorite}
"Sacrifices"
... and many more.

As you can see, this is quite the quandry. Chip in if you have any suggestions. Otherwise. Stay tuned for more info.

how about Desperation?

Because the Elites/Grunts/Hunters were really desperate both when the Covenant was attacking and when the Flood was attacking Dorenth. Also the Humans already are desperate being that they're still fighting a 30+ year war for their survival. So being the 2 groups are now fighting together against the Covenant Juggernaut, they together can be desperate and therefore Desperation. :)

He watches every Hodgetwin video they put up...on ALL their channels. He calls them the Hodge Triplets, and considers himself the 3rd triplet. He's started talking and acting like them now. Every other line out of his mouth "Thaaas some BULLLLLL**** maaayne" or "Gotta make dem gainzzzz". He calls his biceps "gains". When he eats post-workout, he talks to his biceps, "Don't worry gains, I'm feeding you. Daddys gonna feed you, gainz *kisses biceps*".

Hmmmmmmm, most of those sound pretty good, Soul. To throw mine into the mix...

Heroes and Sacrifices

Or

Of Myths and Heroes

I think they sound ok, but most of y'all probably won't agree >_>

All are good options, even Desperation would be a nice stand alone book or chapter title, but not for the trilogy. I do like it though.

I also see a pattern. Everyone seems to like Forgotten.... My problem with "Sacrifices", is that it entails death, or that something bad is going to happen. I may want book 3 to be about happy happy bunnies that chase butterflies in a field of wildflowers, while the neighborhood dogs licks icecream off the baby's face. Not really what you would expect from the last book of the Halo: Forgotten Sacrifices Trilogy. lol.

The title is good... forgotten Sacrifices ranks up there with Relics, and I'm highly considering it, but I'm going to wait and see if anything strikes me. I want the trilogy title to set the mood for all three books, much like the Lord of the Rings did, granted I'm not Tolkein. And it also has to not emphasize the chief. AFter all, this trilogy is a SIDE Story to the Halo Universe. In some ways it is bigger then the Master chief, and goes well beyond anything Bungie will put in the games... perhaps even the books. So, I want the title to be powerful, yet sutle. Of course, I may be dreaming.

Halo: Forgotten Sacrifices
Part 1- Stand, Five Feet High
Part 2- If I Were Your Hero
Part 3- Last of the Gods (working title, not real)

or

Halo: Forgotten Legacy
Part 1- Stand, Five Feet High
Part 2- If I Were Your Hero
Part 3- Last of the Gods (working title, not real)

or

Halo: Desperation
Part 1- Stand, Five Feet High
Part 2- If I Were Your Hero
Part 3- Last of the Gods (working title, not real)

or

Halo: The Happy bunnies play with a moth
Part 1- Stand, Five Feet High
Part 2- If I Were Your Hero
Part 3- Last of the Gods (working title, not real)

Hmm... I was thinking along the lines of The Messiah's Legacy, you know, something that does not emphasize the Chief's appearance or anything, or even Raynord's (he's a good guy, but it's all about Palab) while it does emphasize Palab's part in the Covenant Civil War, which is no small thing; he did fight some foes worthy of recognition, and defeated them. But maybe it emphasizes the Grunt Messiah too much while this story is centered around more than one person (and the Covenant Civil War).

I don't know... Forgotten Legacy might a good choice: the Grunts who have been forgotten for thirty years, then jump back into action with the Messiah, and this fanfic tells the story of the Messiah... so, I would say Forgotten Legacy.

It is a pity your story is not centered around one thing (the one thing... ring) because then something more appropriate might have entered stage... and while The Lord Of The Rings does point at Sauron and Frodo mostly (at whom of the two the title points more might be a matter of dispute) while in your story, soulguard, Palab is the leading protagonist, with Raynord close behind, and then it all revolves around multiple things... Eric/Rose relationship, Palab's struggle to be heard within the Elite community, the fall of the Elites, Simyaldee - in a lesser degree, but he's still important and very, very cool, much like Tolkien's Boromir, or even Faramir - and all these other things.

Damn, I'm mostly rambling about things that are best left to the writer himself... there's even a touch of arrogance in this post... -blam-....

Whatever you might find in this post was all put in there with the best of intentions, although I more sound like a dominant, hyperactive nun....

Well, whatever you choose, the title's not nearly important as the content, and you've done pretty damned well on that particular issue.

No, lol, in all seriousness I like Forgotten Legacy the best.

Phoenix is dead, long live Phoenix!
Is it?

Some of these sound like ship names especially. "Happy Bunnies Play with a Moth." I'm imagining a hung forerunner ship here, size of high charity.

In all seriousness I think a simple one or three word title with a lot of meaning. kinda like Despiration

To Die Without Hope. (mabey not, could be a chapter title though)
related stuff...

Palab's brother.
The Spartins.
The Ex-Covenant
Flood....
Spartin I's
