Fanfic's are fine so long as you don't get an inflated ego. Then when the bubble bursts, and a publisher looks at what you just placed in front of him, his face slowly twisting into an angry scowl as he flips through it, you realize internet praise only goes so far. To the edge of the internet, and no further.
I couldn't be bothered anyway... There's money to be made in the world, but it's not reserved for fanfic-writers-turned-real-thriller-like-fantasy-stuff writers... unless you're J.K. Rowling, but it took her like twenty years to get something written and published... and I want to be rich before I'm too old to be interested in girls... Like a famous British comedian said it:
"I want to be young, wild and rich, then middle-aged, rich and have the -blam!- appetite of a rhinoceros, and then be old and annoy people by pretending that I'm deaf", I personally think the first stage is most important....
I've had that same problem before Scorptank. The way to solve it is to immediately never write anything ever, and just fool around for as long as possible. That might not sound like a strategy, but I swear it works, or maybe it doesn't. If I ever start writing again I'll let you know.
I am fooling around, and not doing anything at all... it's not getting me anywhere....
