Spartan 104Fred Yeah, from the beginning that was my goal. But my eagerness to to get the story done slapped me in the face when GoO was released. Bah! Now I'm forced to somehow ignore AND incorporate GoO. I'd really like for people to stumble across this Fic and can actually see where things are hapenning as they are playing the game/reading the books, hence the title "Side Story Trilogy". And the connection with religion is very forward, particularly with Guardian of the Lumnious Key. While I'm not trying to downplay God and the Jewish struggle, I was making it obvious how important religious beliefs play into our myths and legends. I'm Christian myself, and I have tons of Jewish friends, so it pleases me that I can connect with both crowds.
Xx Twiceborn xX Yeah, as you read on you'll find more and more little grammar misfires throughout. Especially in SFFH, and IIWYH. I'm slowly getting better (read, less lazy), but mainly I hope it doesn't interfere too much with your enjoyment of the story. Thanks for reading and welcome to the Thread. :D
HLC 3 Where have you been? lol. It has been awhile. Thanks for stopping by. Well, he was pretty banged up, but the way I see it... the building absorbed most of the explosion but shockwave still had an affect on him. And as Lai said, Eric and his group were the test subjects for the Spartan III's on Onyx (yeah, the dates are slightly off, but we'll forget about that small part for now, but I do have a solution that will appear in Level 6. lol) So yeah, they are essentially Spartans... because of the recruitment method they are similar to the I's, but they have the muscle capacity of the II's, but they don't have the super skeletal structure of the spartan II's, so this makes them III's, yet they don't have the augemented genes of the III's... so this makes them basic super soldier Spartan's of unknown rank... which is a good reason why Ackerson didn't care they they were supposed to die after the initial training and testing (IIWYH: Chapter 11: The Dark Side of Troy). hope you got all of that... there will be a test. lol
x Lai Tasha x GoO messed me up big time. But only in the Doc Halsey and Kelly department. I really wanted to figure Kelly in as the last pure blood Reclaimer, and I was hoping that Doc Halsey was actually looking for more Forerunner data. But Mr. Nylund decided that it would be more fun to create a whole new world full of Sentinels and then stick Halsey, Kelly, Fred and LInda inside a Dysons Sphere!
Basically, he threw a wrench in the story to make it less obvious where the story is headed.
The Flood and the Arbiter on Earth is inevitable for H3. I really can't see a way around it for the Bungie writing team. I can see Arbiter spending more time on Delta Halo and High Charity then eventually joining the Chief on Earth. Their paths have to cross again, from a writing standpoint it would be illogical for the Arbiter not to come to Earth in some way knowing that in order to Aid his Kin (The Sangheili) he must take the fight to Truth and the Covenant. He knows of the Prophets betrayal (Halo 2: The Great Journey). But knowing Bungie, and the road Mr. Nylund took with GoO, there is no telling what path the Arbiter will take in order to get to Earth.
Spec Ops Commander, R'tas Vadommee tells the Arbiter that he will take back the Brute controlled ship on Delta Halo, the ship you see before you enter the Control Room as the Arbiter. From what I can gather, this will be the Arbiters form of transportation to High Charity to face Gravemind/Cortana. After this, things get foggy.
As always with the Halo series, time isn't clear. During Halo 1, it wasn't until I read "the Flood" was it made cleat that more then a week passed from when the Pillar of Autumn crashed untill it's destruction.
As for people not likeing the Arbiter, I take that to people not understanding the direction Bungie is taking Halo. The story is perhaps the most compelling of any game i've ever played. Bungie shifted from a one dimensional Hero, to a multilayered story that went beyond Halo 1... the story was great, the game play still suffered from the "not as many fun moments as Halo 1" but clearly, Bungie stepped up in their writing and editing direction. Halo 2 plays more a like a movie and less like a game, which hurt it a little, and the Arbiter's story was simply awesome. But many players don't "Listen" to the dialog of the NPC's so they didn't understand why they were fighting the Brutes and not killing humans. I think if some people would go back, play the game, listen to the Arbiter's progression (from killing the Heretic Leader, through standing at 343's and Commander Keys side), they'll have a knew appreciation of Halo and the future.
Hmm... I hold here for now.
