There are 10 kinds of people in the world: those who know binary, and those who don't.

in reviewing the relatively new jackal screenshot adn suddenly i come across something akin to deja vou. why would i be feeling that i've seen this somewhere before? well i did a quick check after i got an idea, and it appears that my idea was correct. the screenshot with the jackals, you'll notice, is taken in a certain area in front of a door. keep that in mind, look at the picture if u need to, just remember that certain area by the door. Now i want u to flip thru the screenshots until u find the one of the elites holding the new covie weapon. get it yet? it's the same exact area. it is my personal opinion that we may have here a sort of halo 2 test area,where new models are put into supercontrolled environment and put thru various tests and conditions to see how everything is working. if so, we have a solid answer to all those bothersome posts about how bungie's work is just barely on the same level as some other new games, like unreal championship 2 and doom 3. well there we have our excuse:this is just a test,and it could get much much better. this would also open some fun ideas if included in the game. for example, how much fun would it be to have a dozen or so unarmed grunts in this room when u've got a full arsenal lined up on the wall, just out of the little grunties' reach. or some other thing. while on the subject of this room, i'd jsut like to say that the elites carrying the weapons-the weapons are not covie snipers. simple issue of tactics. why would u guard a door, presumably with people coming up close to u either from the other side or to identify themselves to get thru, with sniper rifles? they arent close-quarters weapons. in fact, i cant think of a worse weapon(tactically) to have to guard a door[read: a close-quarters fight] with. covies arent stupid. bungie aint stupid. and test areas are small anyway, making snipers obsolete. put em together and u get a solid answer-its not a sniper. just wanted to get that out there.

so the only real purpose of this post was to establish that bungie is reusing a certain contained environment for testing)presumably) and screenshots, and that the other not-so-new picture taken from that area is not of a couple of sniper-elites.

Im not totally against your idea BUT its not impossible to have 2 rooms with the same door.
what if the elites where the other side of the door? think of it

everything looks exactly the same. i even compared shadowing on the walls. the sun doesnt shine in the same direction on two sides of the same wall at that angle. let me diagram
[ that is the wall
/ that is the angle of light going towards the wall
///
]/// light hitting right side of wall, not left side
at this angle, the opposide side of the wall, where the elites are supposedly hiding, would be shady. it displays the same lighting in both pictures tho, and it look very natural and sunlight-y,not artificial. that be a wierd place to put a light anyway, right above the door on the wall? normally they go in the middle of the room so that the light can spread out the most, for maximum efficiency. anywho, its unlikely that this is opposite sides of the same door. perhaps identical doors, but that is again unlikely, and in that case its really just the same area inserted elsewhere anyway.
