"Bungie controls everything. You have no rights. Play nice."

For the last time its TURRETS not TORRENTS. A TORRENT is either a peer to peer file sharing protocol or a violently fast stream of water. A TURRET is a self-contained weapons platform housing guns and capable of rotation. And TURRENT isn't even a word.

Do the banhammer updates for Halo 3 also apply to Halo 2? I'd like to know if excessive quitting will be taken care of in H2 as well. I decided to play a few games two days ago and each game I played started with teams of 8 and ended with teams of 2-3. Needless to say it was frustrating to say the least.

So yeah, Banhammer update for Halo 2? Yes, no or unknown?

Halo 2 has been that way for a long time. It really pisses me off.

Other games are like that (GoW). It happens so much I doubt it can be tracked well enough.

Question; does Bungie have anything to say about who gets banned? I mean, isn't it MS that actually does the banning from live? Noobie question, I know.

Also, if you can get banned from playing H2 by Bungie (like modding or such) are you also banned from H3 or other games? Who actually does the banning part?

In Halo 3 at least, the cheat related banning is automated. I'm wondering if the auto-updates for Halo 3's banhammer affect Halo 2. Does anyone know specifically of a case where a Halo 3 update seemed to affect Halo 2's banhammer as well?

The banhammer is the name of the automated program they use to detect cheating. Its not an actual guy wielding a hammer. While in many machinimas the banhammer is portrayed as a Bungie employee with a gravity hammer, that's just a clever visual metaphor.

The real banhammer is a program, and that program also has a button that certain individuals (namely Shishka) can press to manually ban people.

The banhammer is real, what I want to know is if the Halo 3 banhammer updates apply to Halo 2 as well, but no one has gotten back to me with a concrete answer. Perhaps I should try the optimatch forum?

I don't know if/when it gets updated for Halo 2. I sent a message to Shishka about it, and will post when/if I get an answer out of him.
