Second, you need to decide which socket to use. Socket 939 is the newest, while 754 is slightly older. Socket 939 will cost more but will last you longer and prevent the pain-in-the-butt upgrade you'll want to make in 2-3 years anyway.
Asus' nForce 4 Ultra board is good if you want one GPU, so is the DFI LANParty. Socket 754's Chaintech nForce 3 250G is a pretty good deal. It depends on what your price range is and what you want to do with it, though.
You'll need the motherboard, then the cpu, RAM, hard drive, dvd-rom or -rw, graphics card, etc. Mine cost about $1400 and is pretty much top of the line.
